ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
I'm also having trouble with the FalconX Heavy 9with XR2 attached) using the UAP. It decreases the plane OK but has trouble making an orbit. It goes to 250k but then charshes into earth as the ApA and PeA are both to far away.
Thanks for the explanation!
I just ran the default Launch Dragon to ISS scenario but it failed on the trans orbit step as it says it got lost. Anyone else ran that one successfully?
Yeah its a bit funny going into orbit and does not track the heading correctly to lower the RInc for the ISS.
Another question. How can i enter null values? In the config, for example, there is: "lift_off(engine=main,target=ISS,pitch_tgt=30,pitch_duration=130,off_duration=5,mode=2)". But in the...
I've been watching the Soyuz launch earlier this week. they said it takes around 9 hours to get to the ISS. During launch, the astronauts seen to do very little manoeuvring of the rocket.
Using the HCLV, I still have to adjust the heading to bring down the RInc. Is there a way to that...
Sorry to revive an old thread, but this is very interesting. How did you get rid of all the in-sim stuff like the HUD etc as for outside visuals you just need to have space?
For the HUD, I was thikning of moving it to Google Glass.
i saw a video with someone doing that but I cannot find it again. He used the scenario editor to move his ship into a stable orbit. Anyone able to provide how to do this?
I am following David's excellent video on Jupiter moon hopping. However everytime to go into Callisto orbit and go into the Orbit Eject program (step 4 in his doc), the eject point keeps moving! Any ideas?
I have non-spherical sources enabled.
I also tried following the IMFD totorial 3...
Thanks for the beta link
I tired to connect to 127.0.0.1:5900 once I enabled it and loaded orbiter, but an error can up saying "Server refused connection". I am using VNC Viewer. The old VNCMFD connects fine however. I tried changing the .ini to a static port of 5900 and 5901 but no luck.
For those interested, here is a video of Virgin Galactic's training simulator. I am so jealous, would love to have one of those!

Who else uses orbiter in real time? I just completed a trip to Mars in real time, without time warp. I am thinking about getting a dedicated hosted server so i can fly for years on end without having any downtime.
I'm reading the manual and just trying to work out how to get the dV. I'm familiar with the Trajectory Planner but not sure how to use this tool to export to transX?
