    Updates Artemis II

... and now with full quality: Actually, this is full quality: https://images.nasa.gov/details/_art002m1201002333A_SHARED_ART-SAW1_2026_100_2333A

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

The Hardware C&W interface is defined, so nothing there to worry about. On the DPS side, the interface is with the MDMs, and they are there. There might not be information on which MDM card and channel each signal goes into, but there is plenty of free space for now. The path inside the DPS...

    Problem Orbiter Fonts

Hi there! Wow, I've never seen that before... but it doesn't seem to be just the font, because the rectangles in the display have no fill. If you launch a Delta Glider scenario, do the MFDs there also look like that, or do they look fine?

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

I think that would end up too bloated with the handling of the 4-in-1 (plus all the failures one might think of). Yep, but I'm not sure if the RS wouldn't take over DK-1 automatically. There is some provision for that at the start of the GPC... anyway, if a crew was stupid enough to do that...

    Updates Artemis III

Eyeballing it, the c.g. of the tanked stage should be somewhere in the top half of the LOX tank (the bottom one), so the dummy stage would need something below what is visible outside. ASCII art time: ------- | ICPS| |DUMMY| ------- / |c| \ / |g| \ / \ A few tons...

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

There are only 2 GPCs: 1 with GNC and 2 with SM, and that is fixed. This means some procedures don't work/aren't needed right now. The hardware and software aren't isolated enough yet to pick which MF to run, and if it were, I can't think of having a RS without heavily synchronized threads...

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

Hmm, basic... yes, under the hood... no, it currently gets the data from the PLB doors, runs the SSB module to generate commands to the MCAs and display data, so that part is very "advanced". The other SM parts (APU and WSB quantity calculations, parameter monitoring, RMS, antenna, upper stages)...

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

There is a SM GPC for sometime now, but it only works the PLB doors. With this work there are "functional" ICC buses between it and the GNC GPC, so it opens the door to have some Ku-band antenna fun during a rendezvous. Also, the RMS stuff should be easier to make. Hmm, no. There is no RS or...

Video time! After a few days of painful rework (not yet complete), Memory Configuration transitions (or something equivalent) now work! https://streamable.com/azcy6d (The video should expire in 2 days) Starting with the GNC GPC in OPS 000, I open a SPEC and DISP to show that they go away when...

And that "correction burn" comes from where? Do you just want to change the orbit, or are you trying to make a rendezvous? For the first, have to decide what you want. For the second, you have to make the burns as calculated by the FDO MFD (and you need to know how to use it).

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

When you want to make a burn, you need to input the ignition time (TIG) in ITEMs10-13. Because of the way that display and the guidance works, that time cannot be more than 5 minutes in the past or 12 hours in the future. That is why you are getting the illegal entry message, because your TIG is...

    Project Space Shuttle Vessel

Yes, it shows up. As you can see on the top right corner, the current MET is 1 hour and 48 seconds, but you want to make a burn at 45 minutes and 3 seconds... which is why you are getting the illegal entry message. DPS Dictionary: The TIG in mission time (day/hr:min:sec) is always required and...

News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

The twelfth flight test of Starship is preparing to launch as soon as Tuesday, May 19. The launch window will open at 5:30 p.m. CT. A live webcast of the flight test will begin about 30 minutes before liftoff, which you can watch here and on X @SpaceX. You can also watch the webcast on the X TV...
