Question: Do the engines start, when you press Num [+] (main engines and SRB boosters)?
And keep they running?
I can add a different key to start all engines - thinking of [V], which is used at Falcon9 and Vulcan Centaur.
________
Edit: Are you sure, you are using Num [+], and not the [+] of...
No. Usually it should start sitting at launchpad, with engines off.
Then, when you are ready, press Num +.
Do you have an autopilot active?
Can you try starting a different scenario?
Yes, I have observed this also. But not on scenario loading, only when a thruster becames active.
Could be caused by wrong touchdown points. Will look into that.
To avoid it, just hit the Num [+] at startup. This ignites main engines and boosters, and the rocket 'jumps' off the launchpad.
Thanks for posting the picture from ULA!
I was thinking that the ACES upper stage has died long time ago.
It may be revived, but probably only for missions further in the future, if any.
Found papers, where - by only adding insulation and accepting a boil-off of 2-3% per day - the duration of...
When NASA announced the Centaur V will be the future common upper stage for the SLS, it got my attention.
How much punch does this combination have? Can it loft the Orion to the Moon and posssibly assist in Lunar orbit insertion?
I looked into my old Orange-SLS from 2016 and brushed it up a...

I think using a Centaur V-type upper stage would be beneficial to the program.
The Centaur V is an in-production upper stage and has performed well on Vulcan launches.
You only need to develop an interface to the SLS-core, and a payload interface to the Orion.
If the SLS core stage could lift...
I used one of your textures on the Life hab station, and it loads without problems.
Suggest to check the spelling of the textures, and the folder location.
Look if the path of your textures is referring to a subfolder, like "Textures\MyVessel"
____
Edit: Ah, now I see. It loads in the D3D9...
It would be good to have a setting to increase the ambient lighting of planets dark side.
I agree that the total absence of light on the dark side is realistic, but it would be nice to have an option to brighten it a bit.
I have to try if increasing the gamma-level is the best way. Don't want...
Incoming!
The white ring and struts definitely add realism to the lander.
For information:
In the right-hand picture a metal-shader was invoked, by adding a "_metal.dds" texture to the gold texture.
While this adds stronger reflections, it also reflects the blackness of space very strongly...
Please note the textures of "gold textures !!!.zip" have watermarks and are probably copyrighted.
Better use free textures, for example from Freepik, also mentioned here.
Attached is the zip-file with two additional scenarios:
MK1landertest in Lunar orbit
Mk1landertest at Ukert crater
In the zip-file is also a 'dummy' Moon base named "Ukert".
This provides a base (just a landing spot, no buildings) at the rim of the Ukert crater, near the Moon equator.
This...
Looks very good!
Textures on the main body look much better now.
Question: Are the same textures used for the small tanks also?
Reason for asking is, these tanks look more sleek (like plastic), while the big-body textures look nice and grainy.
Vessel touchdown points are a bit high now, see...
