    Software How to use Blender?

Even Andrew Price (The Blender Guru) who has been working with Blender for 19 years says there are parts of it he doesn't or hasn't used. To become fluent with it, you almost have to be using it every day. Still Andrew suggest working the 80/20 rule ... 80 percent of what you do only needs 20...

Question SurfaceTiles / Base Maker for Orbiter 190914 or similar?

If you must have an English translation, my version of Chrome, if you right click on the page, the menu that comes up has an entry "translate to English". Worked fine for me. If you are desperate enough, let me know, I saved English copies of the pages.

    Anyone know what caused this?

This is a new one on me. Opened my Orbiter with orbiter_ng.exe and got this: Re-opening with orbiter.exe comes up normal. Here is the orbiter.log:

    Surface Base New Rome

There was a time when several of us preferred to play from Mars to the Asteroid belt. I uploaded a kmz (Google Earth Pro) file a while back which included locations for several Mars bases and locations based mostly on Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy. I have my own bases prepared for...

    News Yutu-2 images a cube-shaped rock?

Image out of focus, resolution poor. It could be anything, but more probably is just meant to stoke the conspiracy theorists. Hell, it even looks like a distant polar bear to me.

General Question Transfering Orbiter 2016 to laptop

Does it matter? I have had more problems with the USB powered harddrives but have also lost external harddrives that were connected to line power. CDs and DVDs are not without their problems but are not reliant on external power. No matter what route is chosen, backup the data!

General Question Transfering Orbiter 2016 to laptop

Just remember that powered drives also fail quite regularly and when you least need them to.

What is your favorite thing to do in Orbiter?

I've grown up with LEO all my life (65 yrs) and we still haven't achieved much beyond that in terms of human space flight. So I built my own Mars bases at Pavonis Mons and Erebus Montes, a couple of asteroid bases and a fleet of six asteroid stations between Earth and Mars and delight myself...

How much nuclear power does the UK use and is it safe?.

You are all missing an important fact about the use of nuclear. We still have not solved what to do with nuclear fuel waste. Currently, all we do with it is physically store it. There is no good solution.

Question Changing font of the HUD and MFDs

I think the Map MFD is a 2016 thing. I tried to do the same but it would not change from the default. If you find a way please let me know.

Anyone tried to use Kulch's Space Elevator in Orbiter 2016 yet?

My thanks to dgatsoulis. He provided my missing detail. I now have my Space Elevator at the location of Sheffield from Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy. In Orbiter 2016. Now to finish my interpretation of the rest of the base.
