Discussion ChatGPT Can help writing Code for Orbiter

Oh, but it should. Especially if using paid subscription. I get that there is stuff that it wasn't trained on, but it does have web search function and should be able to look it up if it doesn't know, instead of spewing that kind of stuff. Chat GPT seems to simply hang on to its mistakes...

Discussion ChatGPT Can help writing Code for Orbiter

I was just trying to show that it doesn't really 'grasp' the idea of even what the DeltaGlider is. When talking to it about complex topics, you realize it's a bit like talking to someone who's read everything there is to read about a subject, but never actually experienced it or worked in the...

Discussion ChatGPT Can help writing Code for Orbiter

Well, I tried it a while back, and it doesn't work. At least not even the lowest level paid tier for Chat GPT, but I'm a noob. It doesn't really grasp the situation. I don't like uploading too many photos, but here's an example. And it was way worse a while ago, if only can find those screen grabs

I'm not sure if ArcaSpace should even be on that list. I mean , yeah, technically they are a space company, but the polite way to describe them would be naive amateurs who never really did their homework, so their projects always fall well short of expectations, if they even get off the ground...

    Humor Random Comments Thread

In what seems to be a quite eventful time for half-natural catastrophes, a big salt mine in the Carpathians is in the process of caving in, after being flooded. The authorities first tried to blame a bunch of beavers, then they said it can't be rescued since it's a unique case, with an entire...

News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

Well, when the 'upgrades' could have been as simple as reverting to previous designs that lacked the random RUD feature, I wouldn't really call it an 'improvement'. I wonder if ullage and leaks aren't overpowering /depleting the RCS, assuming it has one, though

News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

Since it didn't make it to orbit, it's impossible to know if the fixes for F7 really worked or they would have failed later in the flight if the F8 issue hadn't happened

Didn't they just have a RUD during a test fire?
