Hybrid Airship 1

A hybrid airship for Orbiter. The airship is a combination of an airship and an airplane that obtains lift from lighter than air gas stored in its envelope and from aerodynamic lift from the shape of its envelope. A hybrid airship may also include propellers that can be rotated to provide vectored thrust. A hybrid airship is easier to handle on the ground than a regular airship as it is slightly heavier than air. It is claimed that hybrid airships could provide heavy lifting capabilities at low costs. There are a number of real world hybrid airship technologies being developed such as Airlander 10 and Aeroscraft. In this addon we explore the capabilities and operation of hybrid airships on Earth and other places.
