Long ago, from a galaxy far, far... Well, ok, from THIS galaxy, but it has been a while.

I have checked this with several vessels -- those that come with Orbiter and Spacecraft3. If NumLock is on the Numpad keys fire the RCS thrusters, with and without the Shift key depressed. If NumLock is off then holding down a Shift key prevents numpad keys from firing the RCS. I will see...

Spacecraft3 ---> DLL The great leap! Finding time to devote to space fantasy is the issue, as always. Regarding the shift+numpad, I am running Orbiter off a memory stick. I don't suppose that would have anything to do with it?

Well, crap. But thanks. It narrows the search for a solution. (And the ultimate solution may be, "Get over it.") EDIT: Actually, it DOES NOT seem to be strictly Windows 7. Just now, using my Windows 7 computer with Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Publisher 2003, I find that LeftShift...

I have been away from Orbiter for about a year, installed 2010 P1 and feel like a Noob all over again! (I was once quite something in Orbiter development... so long as it didn't involve C++) I have many questions, but let's try to answer just one: I find that Spacecraft3 animations which use...

    General Question NASSP & SKYLAB

I hope you get some response to this. I have been out of Orbiter for a year or so (the Crash, unemployment, starting my own business, fending off poverty, blah, blah, blah...). I just started this week poking around with Orbiter 2010, surveying the wreckage of my addons, seeing what works and...

Question Making SolidWorks models to meshs

Can the SolidWorks software export a model to .3ds format? If it can, then the answer to your question is probably "Yes." You would build your model with SolidWorks, export the model to a .3ds file, then convert the .3ds to an Orber mesh using one of the available freeware converters --...

Problem Skylab Ineriors - In the Dark

BrianJ and CigDriver, Thanks for the tips. I am having some success applying your suggestion. I am going to have to do a lot more work with textures on this project than usual -- just about all interior surfaces will need to have a texture. I suppose this explains why the base Orbiter...

Problem Skylab Ineriors - In the Dark

I am starting work on version 3 of Skylab1973 a major update including the station's interior. I know that a mesh material can be made self-illuminating by editing the last line of the material's definition section in the .msh file. But when I do this the color of my materials is altered and...

    Discussion AutoCAD, anyone?

Thanks for the offer, Antonio. I have sent the files to your. I sent the CubeUsoninan file to the email address on your web page -- I hope that account accepts attachments. If not, send me a private message with the email address to use. In any case, I have been working around my 3d...

    Discussion AutoCAD, anyone?

Very interesting. The only apparent difference in our methods is the starting point -- Anim8tor vs. AutoCAD. I guess AutoCAD is doing something to the exported 3ds that effects 3ds2msh but not MeshMaker.

    Discussion AutoCAD, anyone?

Simcosmos, I may be missing some feature of 3ds2msh, but when I use it it always creates "two-sided" faces, by which I mean 3ds2msh "doubles" each triangle and points the normal of each pair in opposite directions. So, create a cube in AutoCAD, with one side removed, and export it to...
