Hey everyone! This is a project I've been working on for a few weeks, and I'm spread the word in case anyone is interested in computer engineering or retro gaming. Thanks!
JAMMA Custom Arcade Project (JCAP)
CURRENT STATUS: Developing VGA driver
What is it?
JCAP is a project with the goal of...
That's pretty awesome!
As for accuracy, I can say firsthand that the Vive's precision is mindblowing, and software already exists to allow you to flip itty-bitty virtual controls inside FSX cockpits using your hands (Google: leap motion).
I'm currently in communication with the developer of FlyInside (https://flyinside-fsx.com/), and it's looking like I can have a graphics client ready to go quite quickly and easily which COULD define its own camera.
I really want to implement this mod, however the lack of a virtual cockpit in the DGIV makes me not think it's worth it. I use that ship the absolute most.
The issue with not being able to see a keyboard is easily remedied by implementing virtual windows w/ controls within the mod, such as those demonstrated in this video:
It would be relatively trivial to develop a virtual "control pad" which would provide you with all of the same controls you...
I'm strongly considering developing virtual reality (e.g. Vive, Rift, etc.) compatibility with Orbiter.
Is there anything in the works for this already, or is there interest to start such a project?
This is an awesome project. It's perfect for people who need a specific or standard docking port to attach to their addon, instead of having to butcher another MSH for it. Mille Gratzi!
I figure it's better to break all of the addons down into discreet projects instead of quintuple posting.
This is progress so far on a small cargo hopper, capable of transferring payloads between vessels at space stations, carrying equipment into and out of orbit around atmosphereless moons...
I agree, but ive got a certain dedication to this plus a lot of resources so im feeling confident about my timeline.
I failed to finish the first time because I made the mistake of starting right before leaving for college.
Now though, the process is Photoshop for the concept art and...

What is the cost of immortality?
We're leaving. We must, else we condemn ourselves. This planet is lost on us. Or we have lost it.
The concept that the perpetuity of the few could cause the extinction of the many is an irony not lost on the World Health Organization. Maybe the...
