News Add-ons working in Orbiter 2016

All I saw was CTD while Orbiter 2016 was loading. This using the resident graphics version. I PM's Jedidia about it.

Would you post a working scenario please? Did it work on a clean install? What other add-ons did you have loaded?

I have installed:
- SSBB40+SSBB41
- UCGO30 (contains UMMU)
- OrbiterSound40
- spacecraft(2,3,4)

Would be cool if Martin worked with some addon developers to release a version of orbiter that has a completed canaveral base and other mods installed, such as the Falcon 9, Atlas V, and Delta IV. I think the idea of a pre built orbiter has potential and could make the game even more accessible than it currently is. Having the D939 client, spacecraft DLLS, and other commonly used assets as well. This would work especially for people like me who use it as a teaching tool for basic space flight mechanics to young people. When setting up orbiter on multiple computers, it gets to be a tedious process. An updated folder structure might work too where you would list by rocket/company, then contract or service.

These are all just ideas that I have floating in my head.

Is there anything that stops you (or anybody else) from doing it? E.g. composing a list of addons, talking to authors regarding permission to include, creating the ZIP, and so on, are all things that don't require special skills.

Also, what stops you from doing so while deploying to multiple computers? You can do it once, then simply copy the Orbiter folder to all other computers, right? Or am I missing something here? :idk:

Good point.....

Hooray for overthinking

PSA (Personal Sattelite Assistant) works just fine.

Swift1 mostly works... except it starts way off the runway (needing the scenario editor to move it to the right place). And the touchdown points are below ground level.

[ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2944"]Exploreur class Vessels v2.0[/ame] seems to be working... except for the "Launching a tank" scenario, which requires a shuttle Discovery add-on, not sure who's add-on that is. Nice ship if you like a lot of "realism".

[ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6146"]2113 Sparrowhawk[/ame] also seems to work!

I hadn't played with that one before. I just noticed how neatly a Shuttle-A fits into its cargo bay.

[ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6145"]2113_capital space station[/ame] works as well.

PSLV and GSLV

Also working:
- PSLV: [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3119"]Indian Space Research Organization's PSLV[/ame]
- GSLV Mk I-II: [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3100"]India Space Research Organization's GSLV Mk I/II[/ame]
- GSLV Mk III: [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3128"]Indian SRO's GSLV Mk III[/ame]

Small issues:
- launch pad position (center of ground)

Hopefully I'll have a chance to verify these and post them this weekend... having to deal with a bunch of real life sh** right now though... :/

Thanks to those that keep testing the old addons to post up here. Things looked rather bleak when 2016 first got released but there's lots of stuff to play with now. :)

Also, I'm working on a small new add-on myself. And have plans for another in the works, though that will be a huge project (possibly on the scale of NASSP/AMSO) that I may likely have to get a team together to assist me on (as I'm no coder).

Q: Do we have a list of lunar landers that work with Orbiter 2016? I'd really like to be able to land a LEM on the Moon.

MAV incompatibility

As far as I can see, MAV 0.3 by Francis Drake does not work with Orbiter 2016. It does not manage the new surface elevation - still it can land on moon and Mars but all autopilots are then deactivated below the mean planetary 0 level - and, furthermore, it cannot launch once landed. When pressing Ctrl-J, the ascent vehicle drops down below the surface and cannot be controled.
