I have a problem when I wanna go to another planet like Mars or Jupiter but that doesn't happen when I go from a planet to the planet's Moon (If I'm orbiting Jupiter and I wanna go to Io, that bug doesn't appear).

I use Orbiter 2010 and my PC has Windows 7 but I don't know if that has influence on the running of Orbiter.
Someone told me that when I've got certain add-ons they can produce that bugs but I don't which they are.

Can you be more specific? What add-ons do you think might be causing a bug?
What problem are you having? What MFD are you using?
For planet to planet transfer, IMFD or TransX works very well.

Is your problem a flight problem or a sim's bug? Can you explain it?

My crystal ball says that you are using transfer MFD to go from the planet to the planets moon. This is expected behaviour as transfer MFD is only for Major -> Minor so you can go from Sun to Earth to Moon but not from Earth to Jupiter.

Have a look at IMFD and/or TransX

Oooh Sorry I didn't explain the bug! >.< BIUFF!! Ah ok, I'll tell you.
Well when I'm in Earth orbit and I go to another planet using TransX MFD (but I think this bug happens even if you don't use TransX MFD so I think that's not the problem)
and I'm approaching to the target planet, the sesion closes and Orbiter ends.

Ah, no I know how to go to another planet thanks. But I know that If I didn't explain my problem, it's obvious that you wouldn't know it.

My crystal ball says that you are using transfer MFD to go from the planet to the planets moon. This is expected behaviour as transfer MFD is only for Major -> Minor so you can go from Sun to Earth to Moon but not from Earth to Jupiter.

I thought Transfer MFD could be used "for calculating transfer orbits between planets or moons (or more generally, between any objects with significantly different orbits, for which the Sync orbit MFD is not sufficient)" [Orbiter.pdf]

and (from the tutorials page) http://www.orbitermars.co.uk/oldindex.htm from the original? developer of TransX. Granted, TransX and IMFD are maybe more intuitive.

When I was first starting out with Orbiter, I used Transfer MFD to go to visit all planets  I didn't always get there, and it wasn't very efficient, but it does work.

Actually I have experienced this problem enough(CTD after long flight) times that I save several times before i get into the SOI of the planet. For me it seems to have to do with about the time that the surface texture of the planet loads (or whatever). Therefore I am also interested in this topic, or tips on avoiding this. In fact, I am surprised when this DOESN'T happen.

Well I know that the textures may be the problem but, why doesn't that happen when I go to a planet's moon from the planet? Do you know what I mean? I was trying to do it again and I can go from Earth to the Moon and from Jupiter to Europa but I can't go from Earth to Jupiter because at the middle of the travel the sesion closes and Orbiter ends and I don't know why it happens!! That's frustrating because it's cool being at a parking orbit around a planet but it's not as amazing as travelling each planet yourself.

There's a file called orbiter.log in your orbiter folder. Please start orbiter, reproduce the crash, then post the contents of that file here.

Ok, I'll do it. Give me one hour.

Maybe it's a problem with some modules, which don't like "leaving the SOI of a planet".

I have had a similar issue some months ago with Kulch's excelent "Space Tankers", in my case the winged one, the Albatross. The Albatross has a special HUD which is showing reentry information. So the HUD references to Earth. Whenever I have tried to travel to the moon, Orbiter crashed (as soon as I have left Earth's SOI --->>> so HUD points to NULL (?), which might lead to a null pointer exceptrion...so a crash. Just a guess....
In your case, I would disable these modules (which are more designed for a Shuttle LEO mission, and try it again:

-Module UnivPTG.dll ........... [Build 110305, API 100830]
-Module GPCMFD.dll ............ [Build 111222, API 100830]
-Module RPOP.dll .............. [Build 111124, API 100830]

I have never used this modules for interplanetary flights, so it's just a guess.

Those modules have been in my Orbiter since yesterday and I hadn't them before yesterday so If I had a problem before having them this, problem can't be caused by those modules.

My problem happens with DGIV, AF, Shuttle A, DGIII and a lot of more spacecraft so the problem there's not in the tipe of spacecraft that I use to travel.

The Textures maybe the problem. I don't know. I asked to you because you have more time than me to investigate Orbiter and you know what mean those numbers and strange words that appear in the configuration files... for me they are strange and I only understand some of them. I'm sure that you know what happens with those failed sesions on Orbiter. Thanks.

Is that the orbiter.log file AFTER Orbiter crashes?

It's not textures and I certainly don't have more time than you do to investigate this. You need to help us to help you but providing the information that we ask for.

The people who helped me before said me to put the Orbiter.log Folder AFTER, so I did that. That's NOT BEFORE Orbiter crashes. Thanks for your help.

There is nothing in the log that I can see which has caused the crash. Can you also post the scenario file you are using?

The scenario file is in the scenarios folder. The name will be the same as that which you double click on to launch orbiter.

I used Quickstart, but I don't know how you are going to take information from a file that only says what there's at the begining of the sesion not at the end and why orbiter crashes... It's so strange but I'll post it. I want help. Thanks
