I think the text is black, and for some reason, it treats the black as transparency.

Thats how it's allways looked for me, I never payed much attention to it before though.

Please don't use Comic Sans MS, it pains us.

The text has always appeared as white to me, rather than black. It's not something I've noticed. Does it happen if you use the low-res DG textures? (Under Extras > Vessel configuration in Launchpad).

Comic sans is a hateful font as far as I'm concerned. But to each his own.

Comic Sans MS is a worst-possible accident in font abuse. It is a harmless little font, that got down the drain like pictures of cats and songs about badgers.

I had a shuttle PB, go all transparent on me. It's only happened once (on my super-huge-mega-deluxe-all encompassing Orbiter install), and hasn't happened since. I'd assumed some textures were stepping on each other or something.
I've since been much more carefull with my Orbiter installs, and keep things separate (AMSO, OFSS, Clean, Testing, etc).
