Support The correct way to instal Vinka's Modules for Orbiter 2010 P1

What is the correct way to install Vinka's dll files to Orbiter 2010 P1? I am using winrar v. 4.
There is several downloads to choose from.

spacecraft3 full package (dll + examples) 060302 for Orbiter build 050216

base package (multistage2 + spacecraft2) 050721 for Orbiter build 050216

multistage2 full package (dll + examples) 050721 for Orbiter build 050216

spacecraft2 full package (dll + examples) 050721 for Orbiter build 050216

and then at the top of the web page the following downloads:





Patch for Orbiter 2006-P1, no new feature added, this patch is about the animation problem in spacecraft3 when payload is jettisoned and also the boosters wrong free fall with multistage2.

I found it a bit confusing because there is no dll file for Orbiter 2010 P1.

Vinka has not released a module specifically for Orbiter 2010-P1 because he hasn't been active in the community for a while. The 2006-P1 version of Spacecraft3 will work fine in 2010-P1.

For multistage.dll, there is a quickfix replacement for 2010-P1 available on this forum here.

You need a patch for Orbiter.

Since the OP stated he was using Orbiter 2010-P1 no patch is necessary (or available). 2010-P1 is the latest stable release and the issues noted with multistage are addressed with BrianJ's module. Spacecraft3-2006-P1 works fine as-is.

NB: You need to install Spacecraft3 version 2006 first then replace the file {ORBITERROOT}/Modules/Spacecraft3.dll with the file in the Spacecraft3 2006-P1 archive.
