Procedural generation station designer for Orbiter and beyond.Create space stations by click and roll. This is a work in progress, so many things may be weird.Feedback is welcome, if you care about it's improvements of course.Installation:Unpack into Orbiter directory.Station_a.zip holds an example generated add-on.How to use:Look into Doc/Orbiter_Shipyard/Station_Shipyard for the manual,or visit http://orbides.1gb.ru/shipgen-manual.php for online version.

Legacy Add-on Reviews from Orbit Hangar Mods

Review by jdk12
Pros: Easy to use. Makes good stations
Cons: Can't see the pictures of the parts. Unable to attach hab
Review:
Its missing some stuff. I don't know how to attach the Habitats to the station. There is no compatible port. Other than that its pretty good. It justs needs an update.

Pros: ? supose to write here [ pros ]
Cons: same as above [ cons ]
Review:
The habitats can be mounted after you mounted an tank ,my problem is that i cant mount docking ports to habitats ,as generally if you can make it run in directX 9 or 10 for low end computers ... til know every ting is ok ... i just remember if you can draw a marking point of the rotational work space cos wen you move the object from the center you may loose your work and need to zoom out a lot to find it.

Pros: Good Add-on
Cons: Lack of Hab support
Review:
Its a good addon, excellent for those new to dev work. It does lack a decent documentation and some features, such as hab modules, do not work.

Pros: Great idea
Cons: Non-finished
Review:
If it's ever finished - will be a must have for every pilot.

This is absolutely fantastic, long awaited and pretty impressive for a work in progress. I would love to see more station parts / modules in future releases... Thanks so much!

Well, how do you imagine that? It's a procedural module generator.
If i put just a mesh into it, how does this user-made piece purpose will be defined?

using the standart orbiter mesh specification ; importing orbiter meshes
The attachment points could be defined using .cfg files or within your 3d prog
and remove the Restrictions - allow the user to freely attach parts

Adding a support for pre-defined mesh part inclusion is not a problem, defining purpose of such pre-made parts is.

remove the Restrictions - allow the user to freely attach parts
What restrictions are you talking about?

What restrictions are you talking about?

the attach restrictions , the red arrows that imply that the 2 parts are incompartible to be attached in that position.

Hm. I thought that made a lot of sense - only pieces that fits together to be attachable to each other. Otherwise, you could get some really weird-looking structures.

I'll add an override option.

Artlav, I haven't downloaded or tried it out yet, but kudos on the basic premise and idea. Looks like a great tool, keep up the good work.

Amazing tool! I think more modules should be added as well as a docking port that looks like the ones on the ISS; nice and flat.

One (I think simple) suggestion is to update it to UMMU 2.0.

Made a station using this, and everytime I try to load it Orbiter crashes.

I unzipped the zip file into the orbiter folder.

Is this even 2010 compatible? Can't to get this in orbit around Earth!

Posting the orbiter.log would help as without it, trying to work out what's actually going on with your setup is impossible.

What's collision-core.dll ? It's certainly not written for Orbiter 2010.

Also, does orbiter work fine with the default scenarios?

Orbiter works perfect in the default scenarios.
And I don't know what collision-core.dll is,and disabling it made no difference.

I think that the oapiGetStationCount thingy may be part of the addon.

Not very good

It has a confusing interface, but after some experimenting, I figured it out and it became quite easy. Limited options, but I can deal with that. Overall, not bad.

HOWEVER, I can't make this a good review.....

My station came out black and texture-less, and after a few seconds, it crashed orbiter.

Sorry, thumbs down.

great work in progress, easy to use, could use more and better looking parts,
and (i think this is a big point) a more accurate way select size of the objects,
clicking on the slide just isnt precice enough, maybe the ability to input values numerically, and what the other guy said: the dockingports need work.
overall its a great addon and really usefull, great work:hailprobe:
