Hi to all.
I am making the scenarios for the STS-126 mission addon, but I noticed that the SF launch autopilot is "confused" while using UCargoDeck to attach the MPLM in the payload bay. It can't reach the correct launch heading in the right time and, worst of all, when comes the time of the "heads up" manouver, it start a never ending roll that causes a lost of the attitude with consequential "hot" reentry. If I remove UCargoDeck then the situation returns normal... but I leave Earth without payload! All the attachment points are occuped, so I really don't know how to fix this problem. There is someone that has an idea to help me?

Don't use cargo deck.

The Shuttle Fleet shuttles have 3 attachment points in the bay that can be occupied by large payloads (some of the others can be used for bay sill payloads and #1 is the RMS attachment point). These are the #0,2, and 7 attachment points when looking at the scenerio file. The problem is that all three attachment points on the shuttle are in the same location in the bay and cannot be edited. So you have to edit the attachment point on the payload to get it to be in the right location. The STS-126 mission has two large payloads, the MPLM and the LMC (plus the OBSS). The FHRC can be attached to the LMC, and the nitrogen tank can either use the same attachment or its own. Attached is a screen capture using this method.

An alternatinve would be to use a dummy SC3 vessel. If you have a copy of ISS experience look for the Dummy vessel in the spacecraft folder. This method is more complicated to set up in my opinion.

Zerofay 32...

I was aware of that option, but, it does present a problem...

If we edit the attachment points to work with the SF payload bay, then the modules won't work for SSU, or any other addons

So that is why I think we need Ucargodeck, to get the right position, without having to change anything.

But, I suppose distributing separate configs for this mission would be an option, that way only the MLPM & LMC in this mission would be changed, but not others.

At the moment we are just doing a launch scenario with no autopilot, so it all depends on what people would rather have: no autopilot, or separate configs???

You can do the second option I listed. The eneables you to edit the "bay" attachment points instead of the payloads. Set the scenerio like this:

Create a folder titled STS-126 in the spacecraft folder and add the attached file to that folder. This is the config for the STS-126/payload vessel from above. Then replace the other payloads with the ones you're using but keep the same attachment points. This way you can edit the STS-126/payload file's attachment points instead of the modules'.

Makes Sense?

Unfortunately, I can't take credit for that. (and if it sounded like I was trying to, then accept my apology) I got this from Donamy's shuttle payloads like his STS-124. The credit will go to him. And if Donamy reads this, again accept my apolgy for sounding like this was my idea.:sorry:

Hope that it solves your problem though.
