I'm curious about this:
If so much water is running freely on a passenger plane, what is the change for an electrical short on the plane?

The article doesn't say how much water is running freely. I suspect that it's not as much as the article suggests. The chances of a short are very slim. Economy is normally at the back of the plane, above the cargo hold. The avionics bay is up at the nose.

All thats below economy are some very well insulted wires.

Edit:

Nevermind! It looks like the article was right, that water is gushing!

An A380 can have quite a lot water in it, its plumbing could also fit well into a small city.
