EDIT:

OrbiterSound 4.0 was released, see my download page.

-----------------------------------------------------

Public testing of OrbiterSound 4.0 - release candidate 2

This is the final version of OrbiterSound 4.0 for the public to test.
If nothing serious show for you it will be the final version.
This version 4.0 is a MAJOR update with several new features and sounds.

Please report in this thread the problem you might have !
Comment welcome also ;)

Please note:
  • -It's too late to report typo or minor problem, only serious problem should be reported.
  • -It's too late also for requests or changes, I'll not rework anything yet.
  • -There was several tests done during the last month on several machines, if nothing work or all seem messed it's most probably your installation/driver. Check doc and install first.
  • -This version do NOT work for Orbiter P2 alpha release after 2011 (all the recent release) Martin need to rework it as he said it was an alpha version.
  • -The version text at bottom will be removed for final release.

While downloading you may want to have a look at the doc ? here it is: (The installer install a local copy, so some links are broken in online version as it miss the local Orbiter folder)

Works fine for me. Nice one !

Maybe the main engine sound is a little faint for rockets, but of course, it's impossible to have a sound that fits perfectly all the various kind of spacecraft we have in Orbiter ! Maybe, in the future, a pack of engine sounds for the SDK ? (like liquid engine, SRM, jet engine, propeller, helicopter, futuristic (DG & co.)...)

Dan,

Some of the links are broken on the documentation. Specifically, you are missing the mix sound components.

Dan,

I don't think those are external links. They direct you to sounds that are already installed in your PC after installing OrbiterSound 4.0

raw Shuttle's booster→ Orbiterroot\Sound\_CustomVesselsSounds\Atlantis\srb.wav

the default main thrust→ $Orbiterroot\Sound\Vessel\mainext.wav

Aux Srb.wav→ $Orbiterroot\Sound\Vessel\AuxThr.wav

They are working fine for me. When you click on the link, what's the text in your browser's page?

Also, can someone verify if Dan wants us NOT to thank him in post #1 UNLESS we have a bug to report? I read the text, but I'm not sure what he means.

EDIT:
I :ninja:'d Dan. :)

Dan,

In the online doc it's normal, it miss the whole Orbiter folder behind.
The doc is made for local view.

EDIT dgatsoulis was faster :)

It mean I would use the thanks system as a "tag post" to keep track of bug as in my forum with the colours.
But as it seem there will not be ton of them, I'll remove this confusing stuff.
