About two weeks ago I could use the Nasa Trajectory Browser without problems. I am using it to get delta-v values for various trips across the solar system.

Then, my browser threw warnings. The certficate was expired on october 2 2018 0:38:17. It's a free certificate from Let's encrypt.

Now, almost two weeks later, this great resource is still not available. What's going on? Are they not capable of replacing that certificate or someting? I am afraid this part of Nasa's public domain is subject to incapable it and this geat resource may be lost to us. Does somebody know an alternative?

Did you tell them?
No, but I may do so. Thing is, I do have the impression the tool isn't being maintained for a longer while now. It had dead links etc. so I don't expect them to calculate new trajectories for upcoming years and add them.

Also, they only have trajectories starting from earth. That's another reason why I am interested in alternatives.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into those.

I sent an email to [email protected]. Not sure if that's the right point of contact, but let's wait and see.

The Trajectory Browser is offline again.. breaking my scraper application :(

NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

https://trajbrowser.arc.nasa.gov/

Can anyone confirm the problem is caused by Nasa and not somewhere on my end? Then I can send them another email.

Worked for me. But it was unsecured.

Thanks. Chrome doesn't offer a link to proceed anyway it seems. IE still does.

I'll contact them. Let's hope they respond as quickly this time as well. But really, it's about time organizations learn to renew these certificates in time.

But hey, what can I say? I am not an American tax payer.. Just makes me wonder how many users this brilliant tool actuallty has. Not so many I am afraid..

The certificate is valid from 31 july to 29 october 2019.

I'll put it in my agenda.. :cool:

And there is a problem again :(.

Could someone please try to access trajbrowser.arc.nasa.gov?

I do get: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Today at work, I did not have problems using the browser :)

I think it's a problem with the DNS server of my provider, but I am unsure about that..

Ok, thanks for checking. It workes on my end as well now :thumbup:.

I've created a web scraper around the trajectory browser which fetches mission data to an Orbiter scenario creator tool. That's why I notice any problems early.

Try a DNS flush, that fixed it for me. If you're unsure how to do this, then here's the procedure:

  1. Open the Start Menu and then type "cmd" to access the command prompt
  2. Now type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotation marks and press Enter
  3. It should return with the message that the DNS Resolver cache has been successfully flushed.

And the NASA browser is currently down as I predicted.
NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

This is getting a bit annoying. Not sure yet if I am going to email them for the third time now.
