Since journeys to Mercury seem to be coming into style, I thought I would post some info on mine...
Took me about twenty minutes to get TransX down to an accurate enough distance. Three course corrections and three-quarters of my fuel later, I made orbital insertion 1600 km above the surface, and corrected my apoapsis on the other end.
I then did my breaking burn and decended for my first serious controlled landing on the surface of another planet
I have landed on Mars exactly once, but that was neither serious nor controlled
I'm planning to set up a base on Mercury in the near future.
