Introducing ... The Jester !

The QJBR Jester is the newest ship currently being built by the RagTag Fleet. The Jester is more than just a traing vessel for cadets, it's also a training vessel for budding developers! As we work on .dll code for this ship, We are also looking for ways to clean up and improve the module code for every ship in the fleet.

The model itself is roughly based on the "Searcher" from the Buck Rodgers TV series. The ship will serve as a training vessel for Colonial Cadets in the fleet and can accomodate other ships as large as the Colonial-1.

Nice work. Could use some tecturing for the decks and bulkheads. Looks like the rebel blockade runner from the beginning of Star Wars.

Jon Marcure is the designer and texture guru over at RagTag. He did all the model and Texture work for this one as well as most of the code. We are using it as a group project to learn how to write .dll modules for Orbiter in a series of tutorials that will cover all aspects of module coding.

The ship itself is supposed to be an older model that was withdrawn from frontline service and religated to training use. Those who are familiar with Jons prior work will recognize the texturing from the USS Sydney and the ISSAPC.

One of the unique features of this ship is the ability to toggle between it's built in Warp Drive and the BSG FTL Jump drive.
