The Watchtower, A Functional Hall in the Heart of the City
Introducing to you all, the newest addition to the Commune area in Orbiter-Forum Memorial City, a.k.a Communia.
I have been having the idea to convert tl8's unused plot (containing the watchtower) into someting, well, more useful, since it is in the middle of a heavy-traffic public area, so two months ago (or three) I made up the designs and showed it to tl8, which after careful considerations permitted me to make a mock-up of it (the exterior that some of you guys have been seeing in the past two weeks). Yesterday tl8 gave me permission to complete the building, and here it is now, in its fullest form.
So, I have been thinking on what to put in the building, since it has to be a public area, and since the new world lacked a billboard, I decided to make one for it, split into two parts, so that it doesn't disturb the general aesthetics of the building.
this is the first stele, on the south side of the building, or left after you enter it, the north-face of it contains "The Stele News and Info" which is designed to let the members post and read some news about the server which might not be covered in the thread, and in newspaper style. Anyone is free to make a new article by replacing an old one here, but please ask me before replacing a news article, to make an order that the older ones should be replaced first.
And so that it remains tidy and informational, please follow the format that I have made here, there are three layers that you can use, the first layer should contain the header formatted like this
=========
HEADER
HEADER
=========
with eight = in the top and bottom part of the sign, with the header being in upper-case
the news should be written in one or two signs below the header. Please note that the writing style should be Telegraphic or as compact as possible. And don't forget the grammar, if you are not confident with your English writing you can ask either me or anyone more proficient than you to write it, otherwise I'll edit it out of whim.
The Stele as of now contains three writeable layers, with four total layers, but if everyone wants to I can rise it up another layer for more words to be contained, but I see that three writeable layers is already sufficient.
This is on the eastern side of the first stele, or the sidewall facing the entrance, containing people wanted by Communia
and this is the Hielor Server Classifieds, an ad board at the south-face of the first stele, for people posting ads to buy and sell anything. But please remember the restriction of the Sign Posting, and the format that should be followed is this:
(for example)
sell: woo482
for: 16 golds
CP: eccentrus
to make it short, concise, and compact, and please use only one sign per ad. and please use CP as Contact Person to save space (rather than, contact: zzzz)
another example (since a sign have four lines)
sell: houses
in SkyCity
for: 8 diamonds
CP: Arrowstar
This is the second stele, on the right side after entering, the south-face of it. And then of course, what will serve the most important function here, the announcements by tl8, and nobody other than tl8, including me, should edit or write anything in it. So I suggest that tl8 posts empty signs to fill the south-face of the stele and lock them up.
And then of course, as in every billboard should have, a random post! It is on the other side of the mayor's announcements, so please leave your random ramblings inside the server here.
And now, time to go to the second floor, here you can see the fountain and stairs I've made
This is the second floor, containing a ballroom, now in the parliamentary configuration, can be used for seminars or speech and auctions. I can think of other configurations, like a buffet configuration for a party, perhaps this building will one day hold the first marriage ceremony in the server
On the second floor there is a balcony, which can be used for speeches made for the open public waiting anxiously on the outside of the building.
