I think he means that the Taliban presented him their understanding of an independence day firework.

For RPG-7, it should be like 120 m/s allowing it to lift up to about 2200 m if shot straight upwards.

Nice to see you back in one piece!

Shouldn't it be more like 240 m/s? The rather slow SACLOS wire-guided missiles are already only 150 m/s fast.

EDIT: 115 m/s according to Wikipedia...damn is that slow.

The German Panzerfaust 3 reaches a muzzle velocity of 160 m/s and a highest possible speed of 243 m/s.

The RPG-7 then reaches a speed of 294 meters per second when the rocket motor fires.

What do you mean 'then'? It fires when the missile is still in the launch tube. 'course, the Wikipedia may be wrong about the top speed... But my track length assumption was for vacuum anyway - should be quite off the real value.

What fires in the launch tube is the eject charge, like in any modern RPG.

Hi Chipstone!

Maybe you should help the taliban reach orbit by strapping some C4 to their asses ;)

Good luck and stay safe

Okay, I really don't know. Luckily for me, I never had a chance to study it really thorough.

I had a 15 second lesson in operating a PzF-3 and 45 minutes of simulator training with it... but out of 8 simulated shots fired, only the first was a miss.

If you can visually direct a DG to docking with the ISS, aiming a RPG is easy stuff.

Right behind you - don't look!
It's very hard to miss the target with the PzF-3, even without the Dynarange sight. If you have the target range and speed, you must be trying hard to miss. First real shot I fired bullseyed at 250m.
