OK, I know that I'm getting into a lot trouble and work, but I've decided to develop a (I hope) updated Gemini add-on.

Before going further, I'm bringing up the issue of mesh reuse.
I'll reuse the existing meshes, with whatever updates needed for extra functionality.

I don't see a problem with this, because the meshes will be used for the purpose they were created, and under similar conditions (a free realistic Orbiter add-on).
Also, after more than 10 years of inactivity, it's unlikely the original authors wish to update it.

The original mesh authors will be credited of course - Don Gallagher, Scott Oehlerking, Brad Hodges and Dealer McDope.

I've started with the Agena as a kind of warm-up :) !
Will post some pictures once I have the position lights and the pannel working.

I hope so. I wish we could get newer meshes for it, there are many details and subsystems missing in the old meshes.

Would be nice, but the panels changed also a lot between every mission, depending on the hardware in the spacecraft.



Thats not too easy... but it would be nice to have.


I have a basic Gemini DLL here with a GDC computer emulation, but I am still stuck getting a good way how to model the analog logic parts of it.

EDIT: After testing the last state, I also discovered I had not properly implemented the residual sector handling in the GDC. Fixed it, still have a HOP instruction appearing where no HOP should be.

EDIT2: Did it now really take me 4 hours to find out that I did reset the residual sector flag too late in the flow...?

Im guessing you`re talking about modifying gemini 4.5. Im just not in full gear but yes. I like those ideas. How bout we. Its an idea but we could have a 3d interactive cockpit instaed of those panels. But any would be nice.

No, right now its rather this:

Its based on the available Gemini meshes right now as temporary stand-in, but with a new set of DLLs.

Mostly a small fun project and as I am pirating the meshes of other people there, I don't plan to release it, even when the core functionality is there. It makes use of XRSound now, but still lacks about everything.

First, are you one of the original mesh creators? Its hard to match full names to nicknames :)
If that's the case and you don't want the meshes used, just say so. I can model if needed !

My updates to the meshes will be small. Some working gauges and status lights to the VC.
For functionality, I hope to do something like the stock Atlantis.
So no, no working VC buttons or advanced system simulation, those are unrealistic goals for me. ;)

Right now, I got the Agena's limited RCS going (two RCS, only up or down jets on each), and the lights.

The mesh was updated with a better status panel.

The panel is a bit too small on the image, but the displays will be animated.


The next step is getting the light effects right, including blinking ;)

Yes, I made the originals. You can use whatever meshes, of mine, you need too.

Yes!

It will be something simple, like pressing a key and showing a dialog using proc.wait_input(title).

No problem in having it popup with Gemini as the main vessel, perhaps taking into account transmitter range. I have a reference for that somewhere.

Super idea 4th rock. new detailing of Gemini missions sounds great. you know I like GT9 and you might check with gattis about the AMU and a dockable ATDA. When you get there be sure to add an EVA light to the aft station so working around the AMU on GT 9 and the EVA on GT 12 and be worked during night passes

Working on a HUD status panel that also doubles as radio command reference :)
You can also see the detailed panel on the Agena itself, that will be animated latter.
