I just started with astrophotography and this is my first photo!

The Moon at sunset in my town (Monte Hermoso, Argentina). Two of my best photos today (13 photos total). It's the best my camera allows me (it's a few years old).

Telescope: Meade ETX-80AT F: 400mm D: 80mm f/5.0, eyepiece 26mm. And other numbers that I don't know what they mean.
Camera: Kodak C-180 (year 2009), -2 brightness compensation.

Well today the day is cloudy and there is at least 50km / h of wind in my town Monte Hermoso [https://www.smn.gob.ar/pronostico/?loc=4443], but I can still see the eclipse.

Remember not to look directly at the Sun. In my case I use an arc welding mask. I know they are not the best photos, but this is the best I can get.?

I have not been able to get very good photos but something is something and I could enjoy it despite being heavily cloudy.

I upgraded my camera from a Kodak KC180 to a Kodak AZ361.

So i decided for the first time to try and take some photos of the moon..
Time for some ultra amateurish stuff.
This is the moon taken with my shitty smartphone camera and a pair of 10x50 binos.
The camera just can't capture enough detail.. through the optcis you can see far far better, clearer and way more detail.




Here is a timelapse made with my even shittier smartphone videocamera.

This is Jupiter and it's 4 moons, i never thought i could see something like this with only 10x50 but it's possible.
Through the optics they are far far better looking and the satelites are tiny very very shiny dots but my shitty camera just could not capture enough light and detail i guess and i also can't focus it well.. that's why they are so thick.




One day later.. the moons changed positions hihi

@predattak wow I didn't know you can see jupiter's moons with bino. Which brand bino is that?
I recently got a 10x50 too, but its been completely cloudy for the last 3 weeks so didn't get the chance to use it.

It's an older pair i have around the house, i have no idea what brand because there is no brand on them other than the magnification BUT i'm almost sure it works with all of them cheap and expensive. Turns out Jupiter is ultra large ( i know .. who would have thought )
You just need a clear night and make sure you don't look at Jupiter when it's low on the horizon (i for one could not see it's moons then). I had the best view of his moons when Jupiter was high up in the sky.

Yes you can! It might be hard to tell Io apart from Jupiter, but the other 3 large moons are easy to spot.

Your photos are good, they are not bad. The Moon is seen with good details (i.e. the craters) and the timelapse is even better.
Regarding the photo of Jupiter, I tell you that I was never able to take a photo, my camera was very small. I currently have a new one but haven't tried it. Anyway you took a good shot because I know how difficult it is to take a picture of Jupiter and what is more difficult is to see its moons.
I also imagine the difficulty of using binoculars that do not have a tripod.

By the way, for timelapse with phone, nothing beats the shutter app. It allows you to shoot in full pro mode at the desired intervals etc. Costs like 2 bucks on the app store

Well, here my contribution from tonight: The Pleiades. They are not seen in all their glory because I have no way of adapting the camera to the telescope but in any case it is the first time I have managed to capture them on camera.

I used a Kodak AZ361 with 10s exposure, with 800ISO.

Look much better than they look here. They are almost invisible at the border of the city.
