Problem Antelope Valley Edwards Final Approach scenario not working in D3D9

The Edwards Final Approach scenario under the Antelope Valley folder has two problems while running in D3D9 client. It's works fine in DX7: first, the runway and base tile doesn't load until much closer. Second, the terrain collision happens while above the real ground just about 100m.
What can I do to fix it?

Thanks for the report. I'll take a look at it when I start working on some other elevation related issues.

Thanks but I ought to mention I'm running OpenOrbiter (Orbiter Beta?) and Beta D3D9
