This thread will serve for the processing updates to the SpaceX Falcon 9 F4 CRS1 mission to the International Space Station, currently scheduled for August 18th, 2012.

Should all remain on plan, SpaceX will then launch their second CRS Dragon ... for an arrival two days later for a 26 day stay on the ISS.

Is this a joke? They'll be lucky to launch F3 by then.

No, it's not a joke. That's the current scheduled date.

Whether it holds, no idea. Though if COTS2+ actually makes it to the space station with complete success, this mission would naturally be less likely to delay for little issues like 'software issues' that we've been seeing.

Um, the article was written on October 6, 2011 and a LOT has changed since then...

Spaceflight Now still has it listed for the 18th as C4:

I would be surprised if they get C2+ off the ground by then, never mind CRS-1!

Even if C2+ does get off the ground in May or June, I would expect CRS-1 to slip into late this year, if not next year, due to the need to work through/redesign/retest various anomalies.

Besides, the busy ISS schedule and beta cutout period would make CRS-1 impossible in the August timeframe anyway.

I'm aware, but it was the ONLY article I could find on NSF that has relevance to the CRS1 mission. The date is in mind of recent changes to the date. It is August 18th, 2012.

Most likely they will have some real anomalies to work out instead of the theoretical ones they're working on now.

CRS SpX-1 has been delayed now to September 28th. LV is already at the Cape, but the capsule doesn't arrive until August now.

Not a terrible delay given the history with it and COTS-2+.

SpX CRS-1 now is pegged for launch on October 8th at 8:12pm, another night launch. Delay is due to conflict by a Delta IV launch.

Good to hear that the delay after months of no news is only 3 days instead of months. Excellent sign of progress by SpaceX.
