Martin has a slower release pace than a lot of developers. Major releases have come roughly once every five years, so a long wait between releases is fairly typical.

Not sure how you measure activity? If by addon in the hangar. I know I have projects going that may never make it there. Like the shuttle recompile,.....

Thanks. It mainly just me. I am sure something is left out,.....
It would be nice to get it fully working but that requires more skills than I have. like the mfd and autoland

Well, Rome wasn't build on a day. Also autoland is no trivial thing its sure nothing wrong with you, if its difficult for one person alone without standing on the shoulder of giants....

2016 needs the basics (for example launch pads) to come alive.

But where would newcomers find the info about how to get started ?
Specially since the old base approach is obsolete, and now it's better to place a pad as a landed vessel?

We (of course I included) have some responsibility here.
Perhaps a basic "Pad tutorial addon" that people can reverse engineer would be useful?

I also think that you could also easily publish your work at the state it is and let the code public so if someone wants to help he can starts where you left.

Also, and more important, I don't think there is an "excellence" requirement for the Hangar... you did a lot of job, let it public so people can enjoy it. You just can say "this and this and this do not work" and those who are willing to use it anyway will be able to do it. I think that a lot of work that everyone puts for free in orbiter just get lost for reasons like this and it's too bad, so don't be afraid to publish your work whatever state it is

2010 felt alive because you had scenery. That came early on, and only latter did we have things like UMMU and UCGO.
2016 can follow a similar path.

So yes, I mean the launch towers and pads. Much to do there, and a great place for non programmers to start.


Your shuttles do more that the stock Atlantis, so its worth a release...
Just release as it, and put that on the description "released as is"

A good starting point for anyone wanting to get into development.

There's ample room for easy fixes, like separations
And of course I'm OK with this being reused on other orbiter add-ons.

I think it would be a good idea to put one of the more formal license statements into the readme there. As it is now, the only hint is the statement in the OHM description about free re-use. Using something like the MIT statement would clarify that it is also free for re-distribution and all the other shenanigans.
Otherwise people that did not read about the discussion here - but stumble upon your offering on OHM - might hesitate to publish their derived work due to uncertain re-distribution and/or crediting terms. And I think this is not your intention.

Use or reuse for Orbiter add-ons as you wish.
