Default Ranger (and other ships) from Interstellar?

Hi to all you superb developers.
I'm just curious (I'm not a developer myself).

Whilst I've found a thread about someone developing the star 'system' from the Interstellar movie.

But is anyone here who specialises in Ships, working or planning to work on making the Ranger ship from the film? Or maybe even all the ships: Ranger, Endurance and the lander?

Would be a fab addition to Orbiter if so?
Look forward to your replies.

I found a paper model of the ranger. So I was going to make it into a vessel using the DG as flight dynamics. If you want to help drop me a email.

I think I have seen models for the others also

I am having issues making it. No clear profile image. I saw that the KSP has one. Not sure if I could see what it looks like.

Still working on a model. I really like the KSP version. Not sure if it could be converted to use in Orbiter?

more images. I think the size may be too large. I saw where the length was 54 meters. Here is a54 meter version docked to iss:

Comapared to dg:

Now this is the not scaled version compared to a eva person looks like:

and a x2 scale version docked I think that is more the correct size?

IIRC the EVAs were shorter than the drop gate, even TARS could roll in fairly unobstructed.

Ranger dimensions

Quote:
As the film now opens in IMAX at the BFI IMAX in London, one very special prop from the movie will be on hand. A 1:15 scaled model of the Ranger spacecraft, measuring 12 feet in length and primarily 3D printed, will be on display at London’s biggest screen cinema, in the lobby at BFI IMAX.

Wow that makes her 54.8 meters in the z direction. But she seems very big.
12 x15 =180 feet
If you look at this images of the guys she isn't that tall.

From Cultman's site
http://culttvman.com/main/moebius-mo...er-sneak-peak/

10 inches at 1:72 scales gives us 60 ft. gives us 18.288 meters
And here you get a size of the rear hatch:

Calculating dimensions diagrams in relation to the mothership endurance.

real diametro endurance 72400 mm

relation endurance diametre / span ranger = 10/1.5
real diametro endurance 72400 mm -> span ranger 10860 mm ->18881,59 mm in the z direction

Thanks. So the endurance 72.400 meters and ISS 103.0125 meters, right?

So at 54 meters is almost as big at endurance.

Do I have it right?

Once I get the correct size I can add animations. Still need to make an interior

they have the diameter at 64 meters

All three ships in the movie Were created with the help of 3D printing in some way or another. Instead of using Pure CGI effects, Christopher Nolan DECIDED That the best way to truly experience Provide a realistic film was to rely on miniature versions of the spacecraft for filming, Relying on Nathan Crowley in collaboration with New Deal Studios. When we say 'miniature' That term is rather misleading, as one model Ranger spacecraft had a length of 46 feet and was large enough for an IMAX Camera to be mounted inside, Allowing the filming of incredibly realistic action shots. This was just one of the many models of esta produced larger craft.

46 feet= 46 x 0.3048 =14.02 m

on the other hand

Hi !

I've just found the topic, and I think it's look great !
I would like to get news from the project, and offer my help if needed. For "endurance", we may be able to edit the 3d model of the lunar station already present around the moon, it's probably the easiest way

Anyway, can I help?
