Smile Lost in translation

I'm working on a Soyuz add-on and I'm trying to display HUD information in russian (not in cyrillic, though). Could you help me with the translation ? Here's what I already got with Google translation, please correct me where it is wrong :

PAO status = PAO status

RCS mode = RCS rezim

(selected) Engine = Dvigatel'

RCS impulse = RCS impul’s

Batt. charge = Zarjad Akk.

Power supply = Istocnik Pitanija -> Internal = Vnutrennij / External = Vnesnijj

Ion sensors error (angle) = Ion osibka

IR (infrared) sensors error (angle) = IR osibka

Solar sensor error (angle) = Sun osibka

ALERT (caution) = VNIMANIE

Angular Velocity = Uglovaja Skorost’

Thanks !

N_Molson, do you have to use Latin alphabet?

Not necessarily, do you know the name of a "standard" russian font ? It's a matter of compatibility, but the font could be included in the addon if it is a free one.

There's no such thing, usually fonts with Cyrillic letter are simply suffixed "Cyr" when they are present in packs with other fonts (i.e. TTF fonts). I don't know what type of fonts can be packed into an Orbiter add-on.

As to the captionsб you've got almost everything right:

PAO status = Состояние ПАО (although this doesn't make sense to me as such, what statuses a PAO can have?)

RCS mode =

(selected) Engine = Двигатель

RCS impulse =

Ion sensors error (angle) = Ошибка ионной ориентации (if you mean this is displayed when ion sensors fail)

IR (infrared) sensors error (angle) =

Solar sensor error (angle) =

ALERT (caution) =

Angular Velocity =

Well, after the update on the other thread, in fact I need the latin transcriptions to input the words into the compiler, which uses a basic system font. Then D3D9 Jarmonik's client loads the correct cyrillic font into Orbiter. Somehow complicated, but that will work

Instead of "PAO Status", would "PAO Display" make more sense ?

For Ion/IR/Solar sensors error angle, in fact the sensors work correctly, it is only that the value they return is the +/- deviation from a "nominal" angle of 0°, where the sensors are perfectly oriented.

Hmm, does PAO stands for ПАО (приборно-агрегатный отсек, the instrumentation and propulsion module)? If if does, I can only think of two states it can have: attached or separated. Do you have something different in mind?

Okay, so having this in mind, I suggest:

Ion sensors error (angle) =
IR (infrared) sensors error (angle) =
Solar sensor error (angle) =

Well, in fact it is supposed to be the title of the screen that displays the current settings and data from components located in the Propulsion Module

How would you abreviate "Отклонение" ?

Also I forgot :

N2O4/UDMH (maybe chemical terms are used in latin in Russia ?)

kg (abreviation of kilogram)

H2O2 DPO (DPO = rotation & translation control system, or RCS)

H2O2 DO (DO = rotation only control system)

Delta-V (or Dv, another international expression I think. Does Cyrillic includes the "Delta" letter ?)

deg/sec (degrees per seconds)

Okay, if you don't insist that PAO would be explicitly mentioned, I'd have a caption saying:
Бортовые системы

(did you mean to have a level mark for H2O2 here?)

ХС

No, in math we use Δ

BTW, if you wanted to see what the real font used for Soyuz-TMA's LCD displays looks like, check pictures in this article:
http://astronaut.ru/bookcase/article/article151.htm

It looks very much like font "ГОСТ 2.304-81 ЕСКД", but not slanted.
