Age of 85.

We now live in a world where both the first spacewalker and first moonwalker have passed.

I remember a TV broadcast hosted by RedBull in Salzburg, where both Alexej Leonov and Neil Armstrong participated. Both were witty and talked about how rough the early years of manned space exploration were.
Especially Leonov showed how happy he was to have survived these early years. He had time to live his life. We will remember him!

That is sad, he was quite a personality, somebody who really had a story to tell.

Many years ago I was driving around Clear Lake TX near JSC and saw this book store. I stopped but had a hard time parking. Went inside and the store was pretty full and as I walked around I thought I recognized some older man as Rusty Schweickart and sitting down was Alexei Leonov sighing books. I did meet both men. They were truly brave to do what they did during those early days

His EVA was extremely dangerous and near fatal, so he was lucky to have survived it.
