Default D3D9surface.cpp assertion failed

Hi guys.
I have a new Win10 pc (finally!), with a GTX970.

I've just installed Orbiter, and it ran several times until few minutes ago with no problems, both inline and D3D9 (I only had to update my DirectX 9.0c)

Then I tried to see if it was still possible to point the 2 cfgs files to another Texture folder.
It didn't seem working, so I reverted back to standard "Orbiter\Textures" folder, and now Orbiter refuses to start!

I have this "Assertion failed" error it's driving me nuts!



What should I do?
Should I go back to XP????????

Try deactivating some of the plug-ins. You have alot of error messages concerning some of them (AttitudeIndicatorMFD, GlideslopeMFD etc). Then reactivate them one-by-one until you have nailed which one is causing the error.

The 126 errors are almost certainly because of no ModuleMessagingExt (used by Glideslope, BaseSync, TransX, BurnTime, etc).

Ok, thanks I'll try later.
I should say that my Orbiter folder is directly copied from what was XP O2016 backup, complete with MFDs and OrbiterSound.
It worked in WinXP, it worked in Win10, then all of a sudden it stopped working without me adding anything.

This is what happens to those trying to leave the Club Of Windows XP Users With Orbiter ( in short: the COWXPUWO) . Orbiter will definitely no longer works ( at least in this universe ). A poorly documented phenomenon named: the Malediction !

Maybe something still missing within your Orbiter/textures-folder ?
I.e.:
(94: 4.2s 00.12ms)(0x4C4)[ERROR] Null.dds not found

It should be there per default.

I would try to start to copy over the textures-folder again....from your XP-box

Don't know why but my new Textures folder was missing a lot of files, might have inadverdently deleted them somehow...
