Hi there.
I ran into some time management issues, will be away from computers for a couple of days, and won't be able to finish the flight and the story until sunday at the earliest.

Already finished the actual flight.
It's the write-up that takes time.
I'll post the final scenario now, to allow the next flight to go.

Tried to post two chapters in a row, but the forum clumped them into one post, making a mess.
I'll post the other one once someone else writes, or the time limit expires.

Then there should be a short reboost chapter, and i'll see about landing when it gets to it.

Concerning the flight:
-CMG ended up attached at a weird angle. Not sure if ti's supposed to be so.
-Getting to 800km x 800km within +-10km is not possible, since the nonspherical gravity skews it much more over the course.

Just to let you know Castor, you only have to make a scenario containing the station in orbit and the general date I'm supposed to launch on. I'll handle the M-II payload integration (and custom payload fairing), launch azimuth, and exact launch time.

In which case, I will post a general scenario here on this thread; and following payload integration, you will have to post a pre-launch scenario on this thread so that I can include it in the package.

Yeah, it's a problem with the docking port placement, nothing to worry.

Try to keep the station in as reasonable an orbit as possible.

After vehicle integration, please post the launch scenario on this thread. If any config files have been added or modified, post that also.

P.S. The station's attitude is being maintained by the CMG. If there is a need to time warp more than 10x, turn off the CMG first (switch focus to the CMG and press 3).

Also, can you please tell me where I'm supposed to dock?

Set a manual axis for the Sync Orbit to keep it cleaner, and work to get your orbit aligned as much as possible (push your periapsis around to match the target, etc, so your perturbations are similar to the OFSS).

It just gives a new level of respect for the calculations to do this stuff for real. So many runs up to the ISS look mundane and routine now (even for the little privateer companies), but it's far from that!

I would recommend using TransX or IMFD. If you want to use Sync MFD, it is best to orient yourself prograde, and then use translation RCS to correct both DTmin (thrust left and right) and RInc (thrust up and down).

Since the Tranzit uses a grappling system to dock, you can dock wherever you like.

Can I please have a clarification? Because I can't have my periapsis the same as the target's, otherwise I wouldn't be able to catch up.

I was referring to the Target's AgP not the PeA. When you are at right angles to your own AgP (i.e. when MnA is 90 or 270), in Prograde orientation, you can do forward or backward translation to move your AgP around to align with the target. My thinking is the more closely you match the orientation of the target's eccentric orbit (albeit say 50km lower average altitude so you still catch up), then you should increasingly align to the same perturbations as the target.
