Default Installed addon docking ports have no nav aid freq

I've installed a number of add on vessels (as I'm sure most of you have). When using them in scenarios, trying to dock, I use the main menus "info" option and scroll down to the list of docking ports, and on some of the add on vessels none of the docking ports show a frequency for the docking nav aid. Is this normal? Is there a special technique for docking in this case, or is it just "seat of the pants"?

I hardly use the docking port freq. I just use DockMFD, select the target and select the port from the drop down menu. Apply that to the HUD and follow the corridor.

I've been known to eyeball it too just for kicks.

Thumbs up Thanks

I didn't know you could just tune the MFD by hand like that.

Take a look an an early Tex video https://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=2055

I think this one shows him doing the very same thing. Just remember to avoid the "oops" moment before the very end.

I've enjoyed several of Tex's videos but that one has the best ending. You think that is why they added the giant red X in the docking hud when you don't have the nose open?
