The new cable car to Germanys highest mountain opened yesterday after three years of construction, this time with a few more records compared to the previous one at the Elbsee. The old one already had the record for the biggest altitude difference, this one now also adds the highest steel mast along the way and the biggest distance spanned by wires between two masts.



We might not be able to build airports on flat ground, but this...

To watch and have fun with a little apollo 13 movie. At first, I would like to thank the ACSoft guys for make the AMSO (recorded with it), and Dr. Schweiger for make the Orbiter.

I was pretty newbie at the time of the recording, so, sorry for the imperfections.

Nice movie, it shows a forward facing camera view of the S-IC staging, which I had never seen, and also the (compared with Apollo 4) rare aft facing view.
Too bad it lacks the quality to show the SLA delamination:

Indeed, a few "new" images on the Apollo 6 footage.
It's great that these archives are being made available.

The quality of the copies is low, but it's good enough to assemble the footage into something like this:
