I Suppose here is the best place for this thread, maybe it can be stickied too.
Yesterday we had a talk about the disapperance of bobandreport's website on geocities, which had for some been THE reference list of NTRS documents, and the idea came up to start a Space PDF thread here. So I start out with the final report on ABLE-1 which are the probes Pioneer 0, 1 and 2: http://www.sdfo.org/stl/1958%20NASA%...L%20REPORT.pdf http://www.sdfo.org/stl/1958%20NASA%...olume%2002.pdf |

Today a find from DTIC which made me very happy because they put up the Manhigh III Post Flight Report online!
http://www.dtic.mil/cgi-bin/GetTRDoc...c=GetTRDoc.pdf ---------- Post added at 09:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 PM ---------- Thanks to Dambuster! I tried to run Bob's page through archive.org and I actually got this: http://web.archive.org/web/200710140...t/spacepdf.htm This is the version of October 14th, 2007. You only need to watch out with the links though, it will say that they are excluded from the archive by robots.txt . As the links are to the NTRS, simply paste the link of the particular document into the address bar ![]() |

Docking standards from NASA (with some model files, the format is unknown because the file is 215 MB large).
http://dockingstandard.nasa.gov/ EDIT: the large files (for deployed and stowed configurations of iLIDS) are in STL format, can be imported into Wings3D or printed out on a 3D printer ![]() Last edited by Wishbone; 06-06-2011 at 05:58 PM. |

Cryocoolers (mostly pulse tube type) and cryoproperties of materials. Nothing fancy (if you want more, grab "Cryocoolers" conference proceedings or Donabedian & Gilmore book).

A bit dated, but useful nevertheless - 1988 NASA Thesaurus v3 - "Definitions"
http://hdl.handle.net/2060/19890003930 "Fundamentals and Issues in Launch Vehicle Design" http://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/ca...1997043493.pdf I finally found this in PDF form!!! Although it's the source for Oneil's _High Frontiers_, I've always found the source material far more interesting. Again, horribly dated, but I don't know of any publication better for lubricating the imagination. "Space Settlements: A Design Study (1977)" - http://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/ca...1977014162.pdf EDIT: The NASA link is dead so I'm linking the copy I posted on Scribd that can be read online or downloaded from there. http://www.scribd.com/doc/144050551/...ection=4257771 Last edited by n0mad23; 09-12-2014 at 12:38 AM. More food for thought (and a lot to digest @ 213 pages).
Lt. Col John R. London III's "LEO on the Cheap" http://www.dunnspace.com/leo-1-10.pdf Got some more "classics" to link for you all. "Extraterrestrial Materials Processing and Construction final report" (1978) 476 pages http://www.nss.org/settlement/spacer...nstruction.pdf "Lunar Resources Utilization for Space Construction V1 - Executive Summary" (1979) 68 pgs. http://www.nss.org/settlement/spacer...n1-Summary.pdf "Lunar Resources Utilization for Space Construction V2 - Study Results" (1979) 486 pgs. http://www.nss.org/settlement/spacer...n2-Results.pdf "Lunar Resources Utilization for Space Construction V3 - Appenices" (1979) 408 pgs. http://www.nss.org/settlement/spacer...Appendices.pdf I actually posted the "Lunar Resources" collection on Scribd a couple years ago, but you now need to upload something there to download so I thought I'd give these alternate links. And finally - "Space Resources" (1992) 44 pgs - http://www.nss.org/settlement/spacer...Resources0.pdf Last edited by n0mad23; 09-02-2011 at 09:21 PM. Reason: additions |
