I've corrected the launch configs for the OK so that the retracted versions of the meshes are used. Of course, when you reach orbit and "activate" (jettison) the modules the normal ones are used. It's a little funny to see that for the female orbital module (it's launched as male and then changes gender)... but as it only affects a single scenario I'd let it pass.
Here, no CTS on launch but I do thing that something is not 100% stable with the OKS.... I did get a CTD when using if for ASTP... Something to check latter.

I like the RCS on Salyut, but they feel a little too powerfull. The station feels lighter than the Soyuz. I'll check that and see if I find some date on thrust.


No news on sound, the email address for Sven is invalid...

So there's progress on my end, just be a little more patient for the release

At launch, I meant failure with the rocket, not CTD, but that's fixed now, Thorton corrected the scenario. I'll post the corrected scenario so there are no probs with anyone else. I'll make some more tests on the OKS, but I had no CTD so far with it (well, at least since I got it working). I was also thinking on a Salyut 1 launch scenario, but for what I've done so far, it didn't even made it past 1m, let alone Max Q. Can't wait for the -tm mesh, then we will have a truly realistic ASTP.
Another thing I'll work on are more scenarios, like Soyuz 2 and 3.
There's just one thing I noticed: whenever I look left on the v. cockpit, I see a huge MFD, covering half of the view, with only a hole for the window.

How did you get the CTD on the ASTP scn with OKS? I've been flying it and I don't get any problems.

VC I've corrected that on my end. Check the mesh group numbers and use the same as T on the config file (check under [VC]).

CTD I got a CTD when selecting the Apollo spacecraft. Just before that the camera angles were all messed up. It might be something related to my Orbiter setup.

That fixed the VC . I'll upload the Salyut 1 RCS improv. and corrected launch scenario for Soyuz 10, not only because of failure with the rocket, but also to better place the Salyut 1, forgot to do it earlier .

I was checking the Salyut and Soyuz engine parameters. From Astronautix:

Salyut 1:
RCS Coarse No x Thrust: 14 X 98 N.
RCS Fine No x Thrust: 18 x 10 N.
Spacecraft delta v: 320 m/s (1,040 ft/sec).
Thrust: 4.09 kN (919 lbf).
Specific impulse: 282 s.

Soyuz 7K-T:
RCS Coarse No x Thrust: 14 X 98 N.
RCS Fine No x Thrust: 4 X 98 N.
Thrust: 4.09 kN (919 lbf).
Specific impulse: 282 s.

So the engine parameters should be the the same ! It makes sense, because the hardware is similar.

Nevertheless if someone more knowledgeable in propulsion and engines wants to check all the values, speak now or be silent for ever
Really I don't know how to best interpret the multiple RCS systems.

diogom, anything else you are working on your side? Anybody else doing something?

From my checks and rechecks, the only problem I found is with the initial module jettison, that sometimes fails to dock the spacecraft components. There was mention that perhaps a configuration using attachments rather than docking ports might solve that. Is it worth trying? Or do we leave it for a possible future update ? I have some other ideas for further developments, like a dedicated solar system config with recovery operations.

Right now, I'm working on some scenarios. I might make a "spring cleaning" in Configs to check if everything is OK, though.

I think the attachments should be kept for later. I'm not experienced with attachments, but it sounds like it would take some time, and with the current development of the Soyuz, I see no point in making people wait, though I think it's worth waiting for news from Sven. Anyway, I'll try attachments, see if that's too hard, or if it can be done quickly.

The rescue operations sound good . I was also wondering if it's inside Spacecraft3.dll's limitations having two parachutes, to simulate the Soyuz's brake chute-then-main parachute sequence.
Another thing I thought of was a VC for the BO, but that would be like pigs flying, 'cause the images of 7K BO's are rarer than water in desert, I believe.

I will think of any other ideas for future developments.

Ok, I'll wait for those scenarios then. On my end, I'll reconfigure the Salyut with the same engine parameters as the Soyuz. Better to be consistent and minimize errors.

As for the extra parachute, yes, it's doable. Just another jettison / spacecraft. I'd say you would need to duplicate the reentry module to get that effect. A lot of trouble for what's worth and one of those things that are better done using a custom .dll. I'd leave it for a future programmer to implement, along with system simulation

As for a BO VC, its doable. I have some nice images but no 360. The thing is, what would you gain from it. Better do a Salyut VC !

Soyuz 2 and 3 done. I'll get into the adventure of doing the Soyuz 6,7 & 8 joint flight, and then Soyuz 12. From there on, it's to the Salyut 3, etc.
I agree, lets leave it for a custom .dll. Maybe we should start recruting some coders?

As you know, two projects were started. I decided to keep developing the SC3 version, regardless of the progress of the (certainly better) DLL version. Of course, our spacecraft3 Soyuz can be used as a base for further programing, so it's not a wasted effort

Here's an updated version that features a better scenario organization, Salyut with the same engine performance as the Soyuz, besides your last updates. I've given consistent names to OKS (no more "naveespacial") and it worked. It's complete with all textures, meshes and configs. Please report any missing files.

You can add your scenarios directly into this structure. I'll now check each scenario (again) and list any problems.

So far so good, no major problems besides the one already mentioned (modules sometimes don't dock right after jetisson...) My guess is that it has to do with low FPS and some motion or rotation after separation from the rocket.

Nice screenshots. You included in your update the old doc, still from the early versions, but that can be fixed. The scenarios look a lot better.

Thanks! Can you fix that on your end and then re-upload the complete addon along with your scenarios (when ready of course)?
I have too many versions on my PC and I might end up mixing more stuff..
