Hello to all the lovely wonderful people here on the orbiter forum.
I have some (limited?) understanding of physics from my training as a mechanical engineer, though I have become a bit rusty after 15 years in technical sales. Currently, I am writing a sci-fi novel (several in parallel in fact) and I am looking to keep my facts straight. I like to be rigorous and fact based in my creative writing. You can find some of the background to the project @ www.ax-yz.mobi/index_orb.php/#Landing I hope that you guys can help me verify the back ground physics to some pretty weird plots that I have in mind. Otherwise, I look forward to polishing up my physics abilities. |

Welcome to OF!
If you are not already familiar with it, Winchel Chung's Atomic Rockets is an excellent site, dedicated to helping aspiring sci-fi authors get their "sci" right. I also highly recommend firing up Orbiter and reading Go Play In Space, to help you get an intuitive grasp on orbital mechanics. ![]() |

Oh wow, I can't wait to read your novel! What kind of weird plots do you plan that involve our realistic physics?
