Well I was wrong. I saw there were 4 thruster and I was wrong in think ing that. It has 10. So no need.

I guess for MS2015 I will let it be static. I am assume that the payload adapter must not cover the thrusters on top.So maybe thinking to much.



But it states 6 thrusters for pitch, roll and yaw #108. These are aimed at the outside.
Then 4 of the thrusters are for thrust along the longitudinal axes of the system #109

Nozzles can include downwardly directed axial thrustor nozzles for velocity addition to the launch vehicle.


It looks like they are outside.

So I suppose the downward ones are on the outside? though it looks like they would be inside. But then it would fire into the 3rd stage?

From your document:
The thrusters are mounted in three pairs.

Pairs A1/A2 forward and A3/A4 aft fire nearly parallel to the spin axis of the spacecraft.
These thrusters are canted 10 from the spin axis of the spacecraft.

Pair T1/T2 fires nearly tangential to the circumference of the spacecraft and are located on its opposite sides.
T1 and T2 are fired for spin-down and spin-up, respectively. T1 and T2 are canted 5 from the tangent to minimize the impingement of the engine exhaust on the spacecraft, but they fire approximately in the same direction

The four axial thrusters are used for major translational burns and reorientation maneuvers.

The two tangential thrusters are used for spin up/down maneuvers.

So as far as guidance goes.
"6.1.3 TLI STAGE STATE VECTORS AT LP SPACECRAFT SEPARATIONThe Athena II launch vehicle was to place the Lunar Prospector – TLI Stage stack into a low Earthparking orbit. The OAM would then spin-up the stack to 3 rpm, orientation the stack for TLI, andrelease the payload at the precise point in space. "

So in ms2015 just need to get a low parking orbit, right? So the final separation from the 3rd stage leaves the OAm. kick start, LP




But I think need the OAm to spin the kickstart, lp, right?

I think the launch site in Alaska looked much the same?

In the patent filing for the LMLV (Lockheed Martin Launch Vehicle AKA Athena) there's some drawings of another launch platform, it almost looks like a few cargo containers. That's be neat to see in Orbiter, and maybe possible once Fred18 releases his next project.

So to proper build the launch pad really it should be flat. But a concrete area could be built. It looks like a pad and a tower and a MAS are needed.

Fixed. But I think the guidance needs work. On the LP press 3 to extend the arms. Thrust exhaust may need work also.
