The color of the Orion: For now I will stay with the white color, but may provide a black variant later on.

I am not sure on the surface of the service module (or any design details of it). I think the Apollo SM had body heat radiators, as the original designs of the CEV-SM. Some current pictures of the European service module show ATV-like clothes, while others show blank metal surfaces.

I found this presentation(2013) on the NTRS that does say a ATV derived SM will have six body mounted radiators, though the radiators aren't discussed beyond that. The concept art below from the ESA(gotten off this recent Space News article) looks pretty much like the graphics in that presentation, and the layout of the flat surfaces around the SM certainly seem like good places to mount some radiator panels.

I should point out that aside from searching out this info today, I don't know much about Orion or it's SM, so I can't say for sure this is the right design.

Orion fairing and LAS separation.

If attached to a launcher the Orion can be started in launch mode 10, controlled by the scenario file. In this case the Orion brings its own fairings and LAS. It jettisons them when reaching a certain altitude (here: 118 km). The Orion itself stays attached to the launcher.

This enables the Orion to be placed on any launcher without requiring interaction until payload jettison.

What is launch mode 10? Can it be added in a scenario to the SLS velcro so it uses your LAS?

Yes, just by inserting the line MODE 10 in the scenario file, as shown below.
But: This requires an updated dll and additional meshes, currently under development. Expect to publish on the weekend.

The LAS looks great! Good work!

---------- Post added at 04:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11 AM ----------

This is a 3d art project that my little brother made, trying to better my 3d design skills. Using some sketches I have, and the paint program on our computer, he came up with this.

Your brothers painting has a lot of details in it, like the cutouts for the LAS-struts in the top cover, or the rotational thrusters near the base. Nice work!

Is there a way you could attach this to a Delta Heavy?

Yes, and there's a few addons to choose a Delta 4 from. Anyway, one option is
Velcro Rockets
and
Velcro EELVs
, which the scenario I'm posting below uses. I know the capsule sticks out from the fairing, but otherwise it should hit the spot. Hope you enjoy.

A new version is out! It can be found on the front page of this thread. Verison 02. Has LAS and fairings.

Attached picture is based on the addons and scenario posted by orbitingpluto.
I reduced the SERIESBURN z-distance to -2.5 and deleted the lines starting with 'fairing', PAYLOAD fair1 and 2.

It is not perfect, fairings show a radial gap to the launcher, cradle missing, but it is getting along

So, francis, are you posting an EFT-1 addon or not?

I don't think this is the EFT. It's the MPCV as it would be operationally? I've got to finish Direct so I can get this mated to it.

I am aware that the upcoming EFT-1 flight would be nice in Orbiter. But no, it is as PhantomCruiser says: I go for the operational MPCV as a key element for further solar system exploration.

For a - kind of makeshift - EFT flight you are welcomed to use the current development version and strap it on top of a Velcro Delta Heavy as described above.
