Default D3D9ClientRC32

Here is RC32.

Looks like I was careless with the RC31 build and got missplaced the shaders files in a sub-folder incorrectly. Sorry, about that.

- Startup CTD is fixed.
- AMSO Texture issue is fixed
- Ctrl-P Pause bug is fixed.
- MFD screen/HUD animation transformation implemented.
- Local light sources now effects in Normal Maps.
- Supported and recommended formats for normal maps are R8G8B8, V8U8, DXT5nm. (CxV8U8, L8A8 are unsupported) (nVidia texture tools can produce V8U8 format)

Note: D3D9ClientNrm shader set is no longer used. That folder should be removed. Also, if you already installed RC31 then you can remove the sub-folder from the D3D9Client folder.

BTW, what's the status of spacecraft2.dll, spacecraft3.dll and multistage2.dll add-ons. After linking the Config folder in /Modules/Server/ most of those addons seems to work for my suprise.

I can confirm adding the symbolic link seems to fix Spacecraft2 and 3 based ships from what I have seen so far.

I have not tested any multistage addons.

I'd say it's very hard to draw a rule... Some Spacecraft3 vessel work, other crash at startup, others are invisible...

iv'e gotten a new computer with a Nvidia Geforce 7000m/ nforce 610m. i am only getting around 10 fps. any idea what could be wrong. it is an acer aspire 7520 with vista.

GeForce 7000M is very old and slow. The fill rate is somewhere a round 700MP/s where as modern cards have a fill rate somewhere around 10000-40000MP/s. I am sorry to say but 10fps is the best you can have with it.

Ok, RC32.... Houston, we have a problem.

This is the default DG's scenario, "Cape Canaveral".

And a few k's up, it gets a lot more brighter too, while on the ground looks like dawn (no, its not dawn )


I had RC31, so I deleted the .dll in the plugins folder, as said in the first post, and also deleted the Modules/D3D9Client/D3D9Client folder before installing RC32; it was meant to be deleted, right? No addons installed.

Spacecraft3 vessels that I use are working fine. Mostly space station modules. Ive heard some ppl saying they will CTD in the virtual cockpit but I dont have any in my install that crash. Also havent tried multistage.
Thanks for all your work Jarmonik, this client is amazing. Just keeps getting better. I use this 95% of the time I play Orbiter now (only the shuttle fleet that I use Inline.) Your work is MUCH appreciated.

Yes, Also the RC32 package contains all the files it needs. So, it's OK to delete all D3D9Client related files before installing a new ones.

I am unable to reproduce this. Could you re-install the client and make sure that all existing files are replaced with the new ones. Also, if you have D3D9ClientNrm folder in /Modules/ delete it. (It won't cause the problem but it's just not needed anymore).

Is anyone else having the same problem ?

Bug New Bugs in RC32

A couple new bugs in RC32:

Textures with alpha channels are causing some bugs (works fine if there is no normal texture underneath).

Also, many of the normal textures aren't showing anymore.

Why ? What formats have you used in normal maps ?
Are there any errors in the Log ? (/Modules/D3D9Client/D3D9ClientLog.html)
