Additionally, once we know what the new server's IP will be, we'll post it here so you can make a note of it. This way, if your DNS doesn't update for a long time, you should still be able to get your OF fix.

Alright, I think that's the last of the furniture. I'm going to go decorate for a few hours (sleep happens to other people apparently). Let me know if anything smashes.

Don't know if it's related or not, but add-on upload on Orbiter Hangar is messed up. All else is working good.

Probably. Can you go any further than "messed up"? What's the problem?

I mean this:

http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6362

After uploading that add-on I got a page with "Access denied for user 'web'@'localhost' (using password: YES)" (http://www.orbithangar.com/acc_forum...te.php?ID=6362).
Reloading OH shows the add-on, but with no files.

Small issue here - while trying to update the Orbiter beta repository, I've got the following message:
Quote:
OPTIONS of 'https://orbithangar.com/svn/orbiter': Server certificate verification failed: certificate issued for a different hostname, issuer is not trusted (https://orbithangar.com)

That routes through to a 404, as the beta SVN hasn't yet been set up properly.

Any clue as to when the Beta SVN might be up and running?

Tuesday? There are no new beta releases available yet, anyway - martins, dbeachy1 and I are putting together a solution to adequately distribute the next one, as certain components will be quite large in size and not version controllable.

Alternatively, the latest available beta from January 1, 2013 could be simply packaged into a zip file for people wanting to download it, before it will available at SVN.

In the meantime people could download a beta version from my mirror, if there really is the need.

As for large data not being version controllable: we do so at work with Mercurial's largefiles extension, keeping only hash-codes of files in the database, but transmitting the actual large content via standard means (FTP, HTTP, torrents). Average size of such assets is around 500MBs, mostly ISO images.

No (immediate) need for that, I think (can't speak for others, though).
As long as there is nothin' new, it's O.K. The repository access is only REALLY useful if there are any changes

That'd work if it was mercurial, and we're talking planetary textures and heightmap data ~100GB in size, and all largely static binary data. I don't think SVN has the same large files capacity.
