STS-1 for example flew a design that was mounted to pedestals that it turn was mounted to the PLB sill longerons much like the MPMs. STS-2 had no slidewires at all. STS-3 flew the STS-1 but only on the starboard side. STS-5 was the opposite from STS-3. It seems like STS-7 was the first mission to feature the final design that was mounted to the PLBDs. But following STS-107 they were gone except for that one mission. |

Looking at some pictures, the "early" design seems static so that should be easy on all fronts. The push rod isn't moving all the way up as it should because there are some variables I can't nail done: position of the motor, length of the arm from it to the push rod and range of rotation of the motor. Plus there could be some errors in the points I measured on the mechanisms in sight, and/or errors in them. |

Hi Guys,
I just found your addon via a friend's recommendation. We are both very impressed how close to the real Nasa Procedures SSU performs ! Do you have any idea on where in the "timeline" / priority list, finishing the docking controls is ? It seems that (at least) the power on switches are not working, which is I assume preventing the LED "distance indicators" from responding to RCS inputs. I might even be able to help the cause, I've done some "recreational" programming. I'll have to look at the code and see if I can comprehend any of it ![]() Also a general comment, though there may not be any solution, depending on the limitations of the Oribiter API : I find the "ctr-arrow" + move-camera-zoom in to be quite frustrating at times, to be able to "manouver" the camera into position to make a mouse click possible on the given switch(es). It would be nice if a "2d panel" popup was possible for some of the more difficult to access "corners". Or if anyone has any suggestions on my "VC navigation technique", that would be great ![]() Mike |

They are both showing 000.0. The power switch on A1U shows on. I was attempting to get the "Docking System Power" Sys1 /Sys2 displays to change to On (from) Off, using Mn a Mn B switches located below the indicators. Also the "Shuttle Crew Operations Manual" OI-33 on page 678 (2.19.6) mentions depressing the "APDS CIRC PROT OFF" pushbutton. I don't see that button. Did I miss it, or is that step not modelled / neccesary? *Also a note*, (maybe?) the addon is following the real Nasa Orbiter / manual exactly but it seems that some panels are not labelled, either in the SIM or the Crew Ops Manual. E.g. panel A6U "Docking System Power". I DID manage to find it, using pdf search, but it might be helpful if all panels were labelled in the sim. Mike |
