I just installed Thornton's ISS and the Soyuz scenario I was trying now has basically the same error as the R9 scenarios. It sounds like the issue you identified is the likely cause.

I actually do as well but no dice for me.

No, I was unable to fix the Vega issue. I re-installed the original v4 and then the v5 update and the result was the same. I will try it without the D3D9 client.
