    LM Documenttion

LM 9 was the last "H-class"- LM and never flew. That mission was scrubbed after 13. AFAIK it's on exposition at...no idea.

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

I think I got it: I just read through the transscripts and it seems that a) DE-1 (8.883 S/15.550 E) was the target side (Capcom says it's "on track") and b) align time was 165:25:00 (actual value for T2 was 165:29:17; TCA was 75 s later, at about 165:30:30; however, they were about 5 mins behind...

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

PC-2 coming up. Two questions: first, what is the target and align time? Lalande? Descartes? Second: how do I obtain the 'photo REFSMMAT'? It has to be some nominal thing, as yaw for tracking the various landmarks is 0°, but the rest -no idea.

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

Good to know that they did it exactly like I did. Well, without the signal delay, that is.😁 And I knew it: they did indeed target for some specific impact point. RTCC MFD can't calculate that yet, right?

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

Coming up on LM deorbit burn. Big question: how did they do it? Just bring up P42 and don't PRO on the V99?

    Question How to rendezvous radar?

Yeah, that's a gotcha. I usually lock on the CSM as soon as I can after undocking and keep it locked by switching to AUTO TRACK. The LGC does not issue the auto track discrete all the time, so it's better to keep what you got once you have it.

    Question How to rendezvous radar?

Ah! That's rather a reasonabilty test. The idea is to lock on the CSM shortly after undocking and compare the LM readouts with the CSM VHF ranging. And yes, the PRO is wrong there. It rather should be: V63E F 04 12 verify that R2 = 00001 RNDZ RDR - SLEW Manual lock on CSM RNDZ RDR - LGC PRO PRO...

    Question How to rendezvous radar?

Well, my checklist here has the PRO after the F 04 12. Which mission, anyway? Every mission has its own checklist, so we'd need to known that. Manual lock-on...well, for what? For checkout, for keeping the CSM tracked during descent or for the really "hard stuff" when the LGC has failed during...

Apollo 12 TLI results in large MCC-1?

😅 Well, I'm with NASSP since -uh, ten years? I hadn't even met my now-wife those days, so that should be about right. Anyway, you gain a lot of experience and knowledge over the course of time, so you can pester the developers with more complicated questions.😏 But good that you remind me -I...

Apollo 12 TLI results in large MCC-1?

It automatically thightens back to the N46 deadband when you do some things. Out of memory: THC-CW and back to neutral SC CONT - SCS and back to CMC V48 V37EXXE (yes, selecting P00 also collapses the deadband. For clearing the DSKY I usally do a V82E and leave it with PRO) When I remember...

Apollo 12 TLI results in large MCC-1?

Jupp, I had that, too, when I flew 12. Just be careful with your RCS fuel, you'll have to do a lot a more maneuvering and tracking in lunar orbit then 11, so don't waste too much on those P23s and use the wide deadband for PTC. Or better turn off the jets completly. Yes, it will cone around a...

    Apollo 12 Checklists

I had that issue, too, and solved it the same way. My way of thinking was: "Well, P52 Opt 1 needs a good REFSMMAT in the 'current' slot of the AGC. Maybe this applies to RTCC, too."🤷‍♀️

Apollo 11 LM cold fire not firing

I had something like a 'partially hung' LGC when I flew Apollo 12. Brought it out of Standby, went through the checklist and had a bad surprise at liftoff: the DAP didn't work, despite passing the cold/hot fire test before. Had to go back before P12, did a V36 and everything was fine again. No...

Apollo 11 LM cold fire not firing

Maybe I'm just to plain, but have you ever tried Ctrl + Numpad /? Not that you just deactivated the RCS by accident. I stumble on this from time to time especially when hacking something in the DSKY or DEDA. "Verb...gnah! Shift and Divide, not Ctrl and Divide!" ?

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

Right, I forgot that TPI time is indeed an input in P32. D'oh!?‍♀️ Another thing: the LM tracking light seems to 'vanish' when I switch from the SXT view and back. When I switch to the CSM and go to the SXT it's there at the first time. But when I leave the SXT view and come back later, it's...

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

The SPQ is confusing me: I set it up right (I guess), but its times and those from P32 don't match. While CSI and CDH TIG are within 1 min, TPI TIG is over 5 mins off. Any ideas?

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

CSM plane change burn coming up now. I figure that TH1 is the usual 'next hour to TIG' thing. But TH2...input guide says 'align time'. I guess that has to be the LM lift-off time, right?

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

Aha! I thought it would do that by itself. No, I don't. ? Or does it use the times from the launch window processor?

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

Jupp, that helps a lot. I changed my RLS to -3.01381/-23.41930 and P64 targeted me right inside the belly of the snowman. I didn't recognize it immediately, but coming closer I recognized this characteristic leg-belly-leg formation of the craters. Switched to P66, hit the brakes (I had the...

    Apollo 12 - Experiences, Odds & Ends

Well, for undocking it has to be 0/0/+2.5. Logically, this makes 2.5/0/0 the right one for the sep burn (at least P41 throws out the right attitudes in both cases).? Edit: I'm on the ground. But I have no idea if I'm where I should be. I saw nothing like the snowman during P64, not even those...
