    Landsat Earth for Orbiter (LEO)

Give me something that can run it in Linux without MatLab, and I can dedicate... probably 6 cores on a VM on my workstation and 4 cores on my fileserver to it, at least for a while. Edit: Note, I also have probably about 2TB I can dedicate on the fileserver too. I can pass on FTP credentials...

    Gaming Hielor's Minecraft Server

It appears so. At the very least, I can't see the online map and TSPenguin can't access the server.

Should've asked me when you were on. I've got plenty of 'em. ^_^

Evil Onyx: I've been doing some temporary construction sorta-near your area to get at the glowstone up there, in case you're wondering what that big tower is. If you need some for the blaze grinder, give me a poke - I'll be happy to give what I can.

The server died. This makes me sad. ;_; It should be restarted. *nod self*

    Gaming Hielor's Minecraft Server

Name's "etmoonshade" I finally got Minecraft. I should probably get in on this, and find a place that's far far away from everyone so I don't ugly things up. <_<

Songs to listen to while flying

I love music while I'm Orbiting. WHAT music I want to hear depends on what kind of mission I'm on. For example, if I'm doing the KSC->WIA suborbital supersonic run, I listen to this: No contest there. If I'm already in orbit, I'm listening to something mellow like Space Man by Smash Mouth...

    Getting to know the Ravenstar:)

Pfft. Manual? MANUAL? I DON'T NEED NO STEENKIN' MANUAL. :P I like to (at least theoretically) be able to climb into a craft, punch the engines, and go. I can read the manual during those boring hours in orbit while I'm waiting to align with or intercept something. The XR series was great for...

    Getting to know the Ravenstar:)

Damned if I could find them when I was messing with the DGIV. It broke too easily for my tastes.

Project WIN Ascension Ultra BETA test thread

Heh. So I was digging in the .cfg file, and it looks like these values are already in there. This means that the problem is less with the landing pad orientations, and more how the scenario editor adds vessels on landing pads - the orientation appears to be whatever it was by default when the...

Project WIN Ascension Ultra BETA test thread

The difference here is that in an airplane (or probably a spacecraft,) you've got these things in a separate panel from your main flight instrumentation. It'd be different if all vessels had a separate comm panel. I still technically like the idea of talking to ATC in Orbiter - but as a...

Project WIN Ascension Ultra BETA test thread

Nothing needs to be changed - more like... extended in detail. A good example is the report of "I thought Launch Facility was a header." I'd have had the same problem if I hadn't read through the thread while I was doing housekeeping on my Orbiter install. I did get myself confused when looking...

Project WIN Ascension Ultra BETA test thread

Initial impressions: The base is beautiful. Plenty of little things to do with it, too. Kudos! All the little functions of the Ascension MFD are cool, too. Sometimes, the commands are a bit obtuse (like the launch runway option, or even choosing which lease hangar you want to land at,)...

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

Yet somehow, they're something like 6k vertices each by Blender's count. I'm not sure WHY they're that vertex-heavy, but they're definitely dense. ... oh dear god THAT's why. Edit: The picture was taken after selecting all the vertices in the object and running Blender's "remove doubles"...

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

Not nearly as many polys as you think. ;) I do a decent amount of hand-cleanup anyway, but it's still 1/3 of the polys that the XR5 has even now. Note: I count vertices since that figure doesn't change when you change the model from quads to triangles. XR4: 18628 vertices XR5: 111644...

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

Don't get me wrong - it's a good idea - it just won't work right with the design of this craft. Like I said, I might play with something after this one that'll carry shuttle style cargos, but this one just won't do it without major reworking and screwing up the design I've got. ;)

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

There's not nearly as much space available in there as you think there is. If it's too hard to see, that's two lines that are 1.57m wide, for a total of 3.14 meters. If I don't have a slot or combination of slots that are at least 4.6m wide and 4.6m tall, you're not fitting a payload in there...

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

The problem with extending the bay downward is the wheelwells for the landing gear - I've got something like 20cm clearance until I hit, and that isn't enough to make the cargo fit. Bumping up the fuselage is theoretically an idea, but at that point, I might as well be making an XR5. I've been...

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

My take on this is that there isn't enough room in the hull for doors like this, either. Believe it or not, she's already packed pretty tightly - fuel is gonna be wherever we can put it, and that doesn't even take into account the rest of the internal systems. Also, the doors are wider than the...

    Project XR4 Nyx (WIP)

The turn radius is crap on the XR5, so the time was terrible. But I made it through all the gates eventually. ;)
