    Discussion OpenOrbiter project fork

That would be perfect. Orbiter and OpenOrbiter are names easily distiguished one from the other and OpenOrbiter is pretty clear in that it means the version derivated from open sourcing it

    Project Skybolt Client Development

Wow, as soon as the client supports normal and specular maps, we will see some awesome looking spaceships

    Project Dragonfly Redux

Yeah, thats why I used the past tense haha. Also I realized my modelling skills are not up to game asset standards so I dropped it Great tip! How would you do it? I just added a normal to make them look more 3d

    Project Dragonfly Redux

Yeah! I actually wanted to do a 3d vc for it when d3d9 gets proper cockpit shadig or skybolt gets integrated into openOrbiter. It feels so much like a real spaceship with all those systems and switches. Hopefully someone will be able to finish this messy model of mine haha

    Project Dragonfly Redux

So when OpenOrbiter was announced, I thought it would be a good idea to use that opportunity to practice modelling a bit. So I did the dragonfly. Turns out I still need a lot to learn (specially on the uv packing front) so the craft doesnt really look good in orbiter. So Ill leave it here if...

    Roadmap proposal - Orbiter development

Hey kinda late, but some of us are here. Just not actively participating on the forum (aka stalking around). But I think the discord could be a good place if you want to reach into the masses, lots of games center around their discord server. Also I completely agree with 4throck, I've tried to...

Discussion "Orbiter Council" to guide open-source development

While I agree that there is a VERY steep learning curve for Orbiter, navigating by mfd are kind of it's thing. Maybe a good idea would be to look at how ksp mods (raster prop monitor I think) handle navigation from within the IVA. Here's a good example where you can see it in action I think

Discussion "Orbiter Council" to guide open-source development

Some of us are trying it, either doing texture work or completely new models, but most of us are learning along the way so it is very slow and not very professional models or textures. And there's also skybolt project that really overhauls the visuals both with volumetric clouds and cockpit...

Discussion "Orbiter Council" to guide open-source development

It would also help recruiting and organizing contributors into teams, thus focussing efforts more efficiently and doing a better job on informing the community on progress better. Orbiter (or OpenOrbiter) would really benefit from this "orbital council" I think (Messy english, ik)

    Project Skybolt Client Development

Awesome! But idk if I expressed myself properly (im learning english still), does that mean proper shadows in the virtual cockpit/internal view?

    Project Skybolt Client Development

First of all, WOW!! Those clouds and that sky look awesome!! Srry if this is a dumb question, but Idk much about graphic clients haha. Are you planning on adding proper shading for the vc? Like shadows and pseudo ambient light and such
