    Retro Cool Technology

No, thank you. No, please. Seriously, I like vintage stuff (and I got the house full of it), but I would never come back with that modus operandi. I have a still working Canon Zoom 814, and tons of 8mm/S 8mm tha t I still have to dump in digital. I don't think that old means always better. And...

    Retro Cool Technology

It reminds me of an accident happened in a live concert of ELP, the modular moog of Emerson was flooded by a storm. Of course when he tried to power it up the moog didn't work. He opened the rear cabinets, exposed it to the sun, and after few hours, it was working again.

    Retro Cool Technology

About me, after some 10 year of total inactivity, I started again to study, mostly classical, but I was lately introduced to proogressive rock, so I studied the intro from Genesis Firth of fifth, and I'm currently studying ELP Tarkus part 1, TDF (TOO DAMN FAST ). However, I like so much...

    Retro Cool Technology

This is another of my old gizmos: a radiophonograph RadioMarelli RD 224. Strangely enough, I can't find much over the internet, so here are the pictures: It works like the first time, with just some cracklings during the first seconds of power up. It has a phonograph 16-33-45-78 RPM...

    Retro Cool Technology

Mine is still in good shape, though the display isn't that bright and I replaced the floppy drive belt with a rubber band (!), and also board batteries are beginning to fade (have to disassemble the whole thing, but I at the time I don't care). I'm curious... What did you play? ---------- Post...

Paul McCartney explains the Mellotron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0S1-Y9TsyY But more interesting than Mellotron is the Birotron, one of the most rare instruments in the world. In this blog I gathered some infos about it along other mysterious synths: https://obscuresynths.wordpress.com/...

I have also a similar stereo equipment from the early 70's, a Grundig - Philips equipped with radio and automatic disc changer + external tape recorder. I'll try to reach it where it is stored to get the exact model number. ---------- Post added at 21:21 ---------- Previous post was at 19:20...

    Retro Cool Technology

Well, during the 80's I put my hands on many keyboards like OB-Xa, Prophet 5, Minimoog, but I never had the plasure to try modular synths, like the replica seen in this thread. Now I just have a common SH-101, its brother MC-202 (never used, still in its original package), plus several...

    Retro Cool Technology

This thread is simply outstanding! Never thought that there could be so many retro gear aficionados (as I am). I have a lot of (still working) old stuff, somtimes even too old stuff; I have also some old synth that I refreshed recently, though I'm using much virtual stuff today. I' taking some...

    Flight Question mars re entry

This can give you a rough idea: https://vimeo.com/25592340 I used Hover as brake (at the end), but usually you have to rely (also) on Retro. Also, a fuel expensive stationary Mars soft landing: https://vimeo.com/19964095 And for the moon: https://vimeo.com/19595735

What's your definition of the experiences?

I think that there is not much sense in leaving to the user that option. I could consider myself an advanced user, but I may be a really crappy orbinaut. Also, as specified by Tommy, Orbiter is so vast, that you could consider it like a moltitude of Medicine branches. You could have hundreds of...

    Advanced Question Calculating Launch Windows

You're right, I cannot say "right time will be in x minutes", just "now it's the right time". I saw unanswered this thread for a while, so I thought that this explanation was better than nothing. If the target orbit is reachable from the launch site, then Launch MFD is perfect for the purpose...

    Advanced Question Calculating Launch Windows

No. I'm trying to get the minimum deviation possible with the launch heading, but of course you're out of plane. Read below. Case 2: 1) launch site not crossing destination orbit plane; 2) launche site in northern emisphere (example KSC) - in southern emisphere the rule changes. For planets...
