IMFD Tutorial: Going to The Moon from Earth This is a step by step tutorial covering most of the trip to The Moon from Earth |
Ok start at Cape Canaveral in a space craft of your choice (For this tutorial I use the XR2 Ravenstar. | ![]() |
Then Launch towards a 90° Heading. Map MFD should look some thing like the one in this image once you’re in orbit. |

As soon as you’re in a stable orbit like the one shown above open IMFD and press "Mnu" |

Then click "Course" on IMFD then once you have clicked that select "Target Intercept" and press "Set". |

Then when your see the page in the image to the right click "TGT" and type in "Moon" and make sure "Ref" is Earth and "Src" is the name of your vessel. |

Then you wait until the Enroute: dV is around 8-10k then press "PG" until you see "AB" then press it. |

After this Auto Burn is complete you should be on your way to the moon. it’s a good idea to use time acceleration untill around 2,000 KM away |

When your around 2,000 KM away press "Mnu" on IMFD then Base Approach then press the "Nxt" button until your over the Approach for re-entry part then you press the "+" button until it says Orbit insert, you should get some thing like this after that press the "AB" Button again |

Now wait until your around 120.0 KM when you are press "Mnu" then "Orbital" then "AB" on IMFD. Now you should be in a stable orbit around the Moon ! |
