You do not need the original for this one to work, but his has scenarios, this one doesn't.
You will need DanSteph's wonderful DGIV addon.
This addon gives you a PSA that you can <b>store in the DGIV cargo bay</b>, just like the payload that the DGIV comes with. The Personal Satellite Assistant is a robotic astronaut helper. It has full mobility with its RCS thrusters. Bring it with you if you don't want to send a UMMU to inspect things. You can use it for various other things, like checking out the inside of a massive spaceship; use your imagination and you can come up with fun uses for it!
Notes:
-Weighs only 10kg, so you won't really notice any impact on flight performance.
-grappling with the Ummu doesn't look pretty, but it doesn't need it anyway.
I tested this addon with the base orbiter install and the DGIV. It works perfectly. Install by unzipping into the orbiter directory. If it doesn't work, you probably didn't preserve the file structure.
***UPDATE*** 5/28/07
I've added a readme file and made the PSA show up in the DGIV payload center. You can now load it directly into the cargo bay.
