Boeing's Delta III was an uprated version of the Thor-Delta series. It flew several years before the company's Delta IV Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) was ready to enter service. Although Delta III failed commercially, it succeeded in testing the Delta IV liquid hydrogen (LH2) upper stage
This addon allows the Delta III rocket previously featured in the 2010 addon, Velcro Rockets, to work on Orbiter 2016. All three historical flights were simulated
REQUIRED ADDONS:
- Velcro Rockets v1.11 by sputnik for the Delta III rocket meshes itself
- Delta2 and SLC17 by BrianJ for the launch pad SLC-17B
- Commercial Satellites Part 2: Boeing 601 by istochnikov
- Falcon9 for Orbiter2016 by BrianJ for the DM-F3 payload
- To prevent CTD, rename the two fairing meshes (found in Velcro/Parts folder), D3Fair1.msh and D3Fair2.msh, into D3Fair_1.msh and D3Fair_2.msh
- The Alternate.zip contains the files needed to prevent launch failures if desired fully successful ones for the first two missions
- Launch commentary is available for the maiden launch only, since official archives for the two subsequent flights apparently don't exist anymore
- The umbilicals from the launch pad automatically retracts right on start of simulation. It might be because there is no Delta II rocket attached to it
- Fixed the meshnames of the boosters in the .INI files
- Supported Orbiter Version
