Atmospheric wind effect just doesn't feel right

When I have atmospheric wind effects turns on I get a lot of yaw movement but nothing else. While this happens to a point on the ground, once airborne the winds that affect flight stability are generally vertical movements. There is a lot of fighting around the roll axis and somewhat on pitch, but not much on the yaw, especially over flat terrain. The way it is now it feels like someone is playing with the pedals rather than winds.

I do sort of agree that the winds are too harsh on the craft, perhaps a parameter line for wind speed on the Orbiter Launchpad would work?

That's probably because the wind module hasn't actually been implemented yet. At the moment this is just a placeholder with some static, random, height-dependent wind velocities.

No realism intended for now.

Ok, that's good. I was guessing that might be the case.

I have never really payed attention to the actual movements of the airplane very much until now. I noticed that while there is some yaw, but I usually don't have to make inputs to compensate for it. The plane stays fairly stable around that axis. Pitch is pretty much constant. The only variation I have there is due to the trim. Roll however is a constant fight, especially at low altitude over hilly terrain or a hot day with a lot of lift.

This is for small planes though, air liners and larger probably handle it better, but I doubt the effects change much.
